New Grow, Help Needed

I completely messed up my last grow, sad as I am about it I'm still calling it a win because I learned a lot. I'm still determined to get it right.

I bought a new pack of seeds, Utopia Haze and these seem to be exactly what I was looking for.

"Friends of the folk at Barney’s Farm in Brazil had been raving about a special strain of sativa cannabis – indigenous to Brazil. After much cajoling and hunting, they got their hands on seeds. Thus began a 3 year selection process. Infusing no other genetics, backcrossing selected plants with strong genetics in the same line to get the desired phenotypes stabilized. They were looking for something original, with power, volume and unique taste and flavour. Finally just two phenotypes were chosen to work with. Hardy plants, – mould and disease resistant, and most important the power, taste and flavour are indeed unique. The high has indeed a sense of utopia, long lasting cerebral and heavenly" pretty nice!

Now my problem is.... well I'm an idiot and I need a few pointers, actually all of the pointers.

I'm going to assume everything that I have done to date was wrong and delete.

My setup.

Biobizz light mix + 50% potting compost.
3 gallon pot.
1000w cfl full spectrum. 5500k
Led panel 35w 165 red 125 blue 8 white 6 UV.
Grow space 2x2x3 feet

So before I even pop a bean what can I change for the better? Or perhaps a better question is what might the "ideal" setup be?

Don't get me wrong I have read hours of literature and watched dozens of hours of YouTube tutorials but I just can't seem to hit this nail. Any and all help is welcome.

I'm thinking 1 of these along side the Bubblious I popped last week.

Day 9 of veg. ?!? Does seedling count as vegetative growth?

Just a little update, I added 50-80ml of spring water to the soil. Being careful not to wet the centre too much. Following Emilia's watering advice about forcing the roots to reach for the wet soil.

So far she seems happy and healthy, temps still stable at 28c / 84f and the fans are blowing against the walls not the plants this time around.

That's about it. Patients is king.

The last grow was a disaster my friend. I over did everything and really had no clue as to how grow.

I did get the grow past the line and harvested about 11g. Which was something at least. Long story. Short story is I'm getting all the help I can take this time around. Which is why the title says help needed. I guess it's a little misleading actually.

I will prop her up and make sure she grows straight. Thanks for that.

1000w CFL 5500k. Yeah. Plus led panel.

The cfl is a pro photography bulb with full spectrum... or at least was sold as one. Its brilliant white and blinding to look at. I think i measured 90k lumens at 6 inches (15cm) with my phones app.

With all 3 lights going I got 98k lumens which is only barely enough according to some sources.

Will that cfl provide the light you need once in flowering stage? Again, I’m pretty new, but it seems like at some point you will need to be lower then 5500k. I’m not sure how your finances are but I found 4 LED’s at my hardware store last grow ($15 each) that ended up bringing me in around 54g. Not a lot, but might just help you out in the end.

Bests of luck mate!

I'll have an update on the grow in a few days nothing is happening that's worth reporting so I'll just add a few pics.
I'm thinking adding calmag soon but I'm unsure when is a good time to begin. She has fully developed her second set of true leaves and I just need advice on how to proceed. I'm thinking 1.5ml per litre of water. But then I don't want to over water either.

Regarding lighting how can I tell .... how red the lights should be? What does 450mn red even look like? Or will any red do?
My white light is 5500k I have discovered this is not ideal. 2700k for flower and 7700k for growth.

I think 7700k is close to blue skies on a hot day and 2700k is closer to sunset on the ocean. I need a better lighting solution. Any ideas? Cheap ideas I don't have a huge budget. Thanks

Might as well update it's going to be slow for the next week or three.

Here are my girls Bubblious is about a week older than the Utopia Haze. Just btw when is the best time to start calmag? I really don't want to rush in again.

I would hold off on the calmag until you see the plants call for it. Loading up the soil with calcium and magnesium that is not being used can lock out other nutrients.

Time for an update

My Bubblious is coming along just fine and I'm happy with its progress.

The Utopia Haze on the other hand is stretchy and looks like its locking up. Big sad.

So I Phd some spring water to 6.3 and added 5ml root grow with 10 drops of generic plant stimulator to a 750ml water. Just to boost absorption for a day or two. Hopefully it will right itself quickly.

I've been strict with the watering and no nutes until today, an exception for today. I plan to start adding nutes on week 4 gently, about 5% and add 2% every two weeks until 2nd week of flower. Then just water Phd to 6.3.

Here are some pics, advice and comments are always welcome.

Guys... can I get some help with lighting for my grow?

I'm getting concerned and I want to double check I have enough or time to quickly replace some equipment.

I have a
Photography 1000w cfl full spectrum 5500k
100w eq clf non spectrum 7500k
LED panel 165Red 125Blue 8UV 6White 45w (35w actual)

Everything about my lighting is what I've heard will work. But I think advice from a pro would go a lot further than what I can find out on the internet.

So please, lil help?

ouch! I dropped a light on one once... you learn. I hope this goes a lot better!
You and me both . Lost a bit of harvest that year first or second grow here . Growing pains are real. Lol

Hi... I think you might benefit from my 1st journal.. it's full of oo many bCk ups.. us running a 300w viparspectra and I had 2 of your red cfls .. they ain't worth piss mate.. I took them out midgrow.. they consumed to much space gave off more heat and less lumens acompare to the leds... dont waste your time with it.. if you can go quantum do it.. itll save you more space then my viper or a comparitive mars ect.. also vhevk your potting mix ainr filled with stone.. i baked many roots with the wrong mix at 1st.. And also.. try not to tho k about them too much.. the one thing that bugged me most 1st time was waiting for things to happen instead of going about my shit and leaving them to just be....

Don't up pit to big and allow for our wet/dry periods with the soil. Let it dry for day before you water again.... roots need oxygen as well as water and in soil you st one or the other...

.If ou get an octopot or make one like me. It's fry little maintenance and oh st the best of soil and hydro.....

Goodluck dig deep in other journals there's a wealth of info in here
