Hey guys I am new to this site and also new to growing!! I currently have 6 plants , in my wardrobe under a 125 watt CFL! (Will be changing to a 400 hps soon! Everything was going great and then today I checked on them and my biggest plant had fallen over! And the leaves also look a bit shrivelled! This plant is about 2 weeks older than the others but I put them all under the light at the same time about a week ago! The stem is very long and I think this could have something to do with it falling! Although doesn't explain the shrivelled leaves! I have changed the pot to a big one and put some card in to hold it up! Can somebody please help me ?! Thanks, charl x

sound like they are overstretched , how close was the light ? cfl needs to be at MAXIMUM 10cm (4 inch?) from the plant tops.
but yea a picture tells more then athousand words ... ;)

Just used the info you gave me! Thankyou :) uploaded two pics but I don't know we're they have uploaded as they haven't uploaded onto this thread? Is there not a way to do that? Confused.com :/

After you uploaded the pics, there is one more step, you need to "PROCESS" them. Did you do that?

Aftere they are processed, you open the box to type your reply and in the bottom left corner there is a tab that says "MY PHOTOS."

THEN YOU JUST CLICK ON WHICH PIC(S) YOU WANT TO HAVE SHOW IN YOUR MESSAGE. (PLEASE EXCUSE CAPS)

Hooray!! X

Finally figured out how to do it!! They are babies but this one is a few weeks older. I had her in my window the first couple weeks and the stem got really long so put her under light . She was fine yesterday and then today when I checked she had fallen over and the leaves were like this?? :/,

Hi! Been having similar problem
Just fill the 1/2 of the stem with the soil and firm it slightly. These support systems like cards/sticks wont work. The problem is the breeze. In nature, the breeze strengthens the stem by blowing over naturally, since you might be sitting your plants in still air or less breeze/ swift air, the stem is unable to hold the weight.
Check my post aswell, you will relate.
Peace

A couple of suggestions and questions. Does that pot have drainage holes? The soil looks a little too wet so take care with over waterering. You could add more soil around the stem in that pot. When you move to a larger pot, possibly add perlite to the sol to improve drainage.

Edit to add: Be careful with water drops on the leaves when lights are on. Can act like a magnifying glass and burn the leaves.

Hey! Yes it does have drainage holes and I haven't been watering them too much but tonight when I saw it had fallen over I moved it into a bigger pot so I could put soil higher to try and keep it more upright! It has actually bent right at the top too :/ and Thankyou for the water on leaves comment as earlier I sprayed them and put them strait back under! Oops! So glad I found this site I sure it will give me lots of help! Thanks again x
