New users 50 posts before PM?

Hi i'd like to send a pm to someone on a new account but need 50 posts before permissions. Can't seem to message mods either - is there a way to grant permissions? I don't want to ask for exceptions if the rules are the rules but I don't want to spam the board either!

It's designed to prevent spammers as well as voting in contests

Until then open contact to them or start following threads and interact with people
