It's founders call it a "health mall," but the All Natural Health and Wellness Center near Clio also features medical marijuana.

Inside the former Clio Ford building is the 30,000 square foot "wellness center."

"The Cannibus Research Institute of America is actually housed in the third suite," said co-founder Robb Lapeen.

It's founders are both Clio High School graduates and licensed medical marijuana caregivers.

But this isn't a so-called "compassion club." Instead, they're like the middle men.

"We don't sell the product here. We allow patients and caregivers to rent table space in a private setting to allow their transfers to be safe," said co-founder Eric Gunnels.

Gunnells said along with massages and other holistic healing, 20 to 30 marijuana caregivers will be able to legally provide the drug to their patients at the center.

"If a patient doesn't have a caregiver, they can possibly meet one here," Lapeen said.

Sixty-three percent of Michigan voters approved medical marijuana, but Lapeen says there's still no good way to dispense it.

In the neighborhood next door, Mitch Neely says he moved out of Phoenix back home to Michigan to get away from the crime.

"The concern is with this type of business in the neighborhood, it's going to invite in the possibility of crime," Neely said.

Neely said the new center caught neighbors off guard and he wants the township to investigate.

Lapeen and Gunnels said the non-profit center doesn't grow marijuana and there won't be any on the premises overnight.
