Newbie Growing: What Have I Done!

Right, I've put the little ones in the main tent, and one thing I've noticed is that the new ones are dark green and looking good, but the 3 big ones in the tent look light green in comparison. All I can find on it is I read is sulphur def. but I don't think it's that, not since it appears I've been overdosing them. Can someone have an educated guess please? Have I roasted them by being 14" closer to the than they should have been for a week? Thanks :)

I base every feed with 200 ppm of cal mag for the entire grow except the first two weeks when they first start out. That’s really for coco only though as coco really need extra cal mag.

Omg I forgot to ask you, do include the cal mag when making up a bottle of 1-1-1. And if you do, do you include the nutrition from it? Like my calmag extra has 4-0-0, so I need to add 0-4-4 and that's okay? Or do you not include the calmag in the 1-1-1? Cheers bud :)

Okay I thought I show you guys what I mean. If you look at the 6th pic with the 3 plants, you can see how light green the top left one is. especially compared to the new seedling. Dropped the nutes a few days ago but the big one is way burnt and pale green, as is the really bright one and also the one in the red pot. They are the 3 from the tent so not sure what's wrong in there? Anyone had this before?

Okay so after I dropped the nutes, they are looking a bit less bright at the new leaves, may have to drop them more for the medkit as it looks tiny, stunted and still bright green. The big mass looks close to needing topping, so when the next node appears I'll nip the top off, hopefully then it will be happier with the nutes with 2 stems to grow.

Can anyone say that the bigger one looks better on top than at the beginning, or do the leaves come through brighter and darken over time? Newbies hey!!

Looks like you had classic nutrient burn, the newer growth is looking much better. For plants that size I'd only feed them 1/4 of what the manufacturer recommends. If a plant starts growing really fast new growth looks light green but will darken once it's metabolism catches up.

Mate, you're like a guru here man, 'The Weed Whisperer'! :D Thank you so much Pennywise :thumb: once again you're saving my bacon. At least I know I'm on the right track!!

Subbed in and I have a comment. Like others have said you have nute burn. As far as adding silica I would wait till they are much bigger and when you do add it to your feed you need to start with adding it first in your water (like east coast ghost said) and mix it well and let it sit about 20 min until you add your cal mag and other nutes then ph the whole feed. And seedlings I always run bloom nutes for the first few weeks then veg nutes into the first 2 weeks of flip to help with the stretch. Hope that helps some and good luck you have some of the best growers helping ya.

Hi Derbybud, that's great advice mate, thank you!! I have been throwing all the nutes in together, so will do it that way in the future, I still have half a gal of nutes so once they're done will make a new batch. Can I ask the purpose of it? Is it the ph it affects?

Silica just doesn't mix well. It needs to be mixed first and let it combine to the water. It will really throw your ph off and adding nutes after will bring it back some.

Hey guys, I've looked today and my 3 main plants have some green 'mold' I'm guessing on top of the coco. They're also the only ones that I grew inside a 'root riot' cube. Anything to be wary of? The cube has had green mold on it for a while but the plants seem happy and growing well. Any ideas guys?

So these are the photos I took last night, they all look really good but am worried about the big 3, as you can see there is that green mold on topof the coco. It did spread from the root riot cube so hoping it's a good thing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Take and bust it up some and put a bit on new coco on top. I have this fork looking thing I run thru it if i'm seeing anything weird looking on top.
Yes it's algae, shouldn't harm the plant directly but will feed on your nutes and mess up the ph.

Brilliant! Thanks Derby :) God I am so glad I joined this site! Has more info than anywhere else you'd find online!!
