At least, seventeen suspects including a pregnant teenage girl and a nursing mother are now assisting the men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kwara state over the sale of 16.5kilogrammes worth of cannabis to members of the public.

Parading the suspects before newsmen in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commander of the NDLEA, Mr. Nsan Jack said that the suspects were arrested at different locations in the state following a tip off.According to him, among the suspects whose ages range between 15 and 17 years would be counseled while the adults among them would be made to face the wrath of the law as a deterrent to others.

He said that the suspects are kept in their custody for a longer period due to the ongoing national strike action embarked upon by judicial staffers across the country.Jack denounced the increase in youth's involvement in the growing and selling of drugs in the country ,saying that the NDLEA would continue to embark on enlightenment programme so as to discourage them from participating in the act.

He added that the development has constituted a cog in the wheel of progress of the nation as many of them have involved themselves in social ills that have retarded the progress of the nation.Jack stressed that the NDLEA would also embark on regular patrol across the length and breadth of the state so as to check the activities of drug barons across the state.

He therefore advised members of the public to continue to assist the NDLEA by giving information that would help them unravel the activities and the locations of drug barons in the state.
