Noob grower - Need help

I've killed my first grow due to lack of knowledge. So I've learned some but still have questions. I want to use my extra t5 shop lights but don't know what bulbs are best to use in them and how far away from the plants they should be. Any help is greatly appreciated

Fluorescent lights are, from my experience the way to go with seedlings. T5 are what I use for my nursery.

Can you use them from start to finish and what bulbs do you use in them?

Ive seen others use T5's for the entire grow, ive always flowered under hps or led.

You can find some variations of T5 bulbs, creating a custom sectrum for veg and bloom. Can keep them pretty close to the canopy.

Look at the EYE PowerVEG line up.

I'm wanting to start with t5s and possibly move up to a mars 600w led for flowering.
