NuLife's Soilless Lemon OG Haze Auto: Grow Journal 2016

Thanks Croatan,

On 8/21/16: 24" away
On 8/28/16: Dropped to 22" away
On 9/02/16: Dropped to 18-20" away for the last 2 days

Today I raised them back to 25-27"

Yea I spent the night looking at Light Burn pictures and I think that's definitely what the problem is. It's only on 4-5 colas that were the tallest. I also looked back at pictures and the discoloring only started after the light was lowered after the 8/28th. So I think I pushed it too much, not really having experience with COBs. I have raised all the COBs as far as they can go, about 25-27" from the plants. I won't move them down again, I will just wait to see if the plants reach up to them. I also spent some extra time, pulling down some of the burned colas a bit, to make them more even with the canopy. I moved Plant1 that was the only one affected under the 300w LED light today to give her a slight break from the COB. Will move back tomorrow.

Thanks for your help.
:high-five:

Over half a metre seems far enough for me. At the moment, I keep my 2x400W HPS @25cm (10'') from the tops.

On the other hand, these COB's are really intense. I've seen them in action but have no personal experience with them. Anyway, back off a bit and see if things improve.

LOL yes I love me some bondage, and though I can't use rope, I have a great way to bondage up my plant now. lol I removed the bamboo sticks and opened her up a bit better with the coated wire I bought. FYI, *Coated Wire is a must buy, this stuff is great, better than the Garden Twist Ties, better than the Garden Soft Coated Ties, and as much as I love the bamboo sticks they get in the way, and I worry about the roots. So yes, Coated Wires, is the best options, I've found so far. As for humiliation, it's never been my thing unless of course someone was bad, and the only one who was bad here, was me for lowering the lights too fast. lol So bad me, bad bad me!!! lolol

I get the coated wire on Amazon: KINGLAKE 100 Feet Sturdy Plastic Coated Garden Wire 1.8mm Plant Twist Tie Garden Training Wire (2pks 50 ft)

Smart move. How were you able to do it without cropping them? Applied some bondage and humiliation, didn't we? :)

9/8/16 Week 9 - So I'm not sure if it's flowering period discoloring or if I'm at the very beginning stages of nute burn, but I notice a couple of tips starting to yellow and be crispy. On Plant 1 & 2. So I decided to do another flush today on just these two plants. Plant 3 was simply fed, since she looks perfect.

Lights are at 30-31" away from the plants. I've decided to return one of the 800w COB lights and get two 600w 3wLEDs instead. Though the plants don't seem to be burning anymore. After speaking with the company rep, they don't think I need two COBs this powerful in the size closet I have (2' deep x 4.5' wide 5.5' high), especially cause I can't raise it higher than I already have it. So since the 300w 3wLEDs were working out great, I'm just going to double that. So once I get them, I will have two 600w 3wLEDs and a 800w COB light in the middle. I think this would be a good compromise for the size closet I have with giving full coverage and different spectrums of light. I will move the other 300w LED I have in the closet back into the tent with the Aurora Indica plants, right before flowering for even coverage when they get big, bringing the total of two 300w LEDs in the tent. I hope this works out till I can afford premium lighting next year.

Beginning Signs of Nute Burn

I know, I know! lol My friends call it the Martha Stewart sickness. LOL But I'm very detailed because I save these journals and keep them for a point of reference to learn from in the future. I'm no spring chicken, so I don't want to assume, I'm going to simply remember certain details in the future, because I plan to be growing a LOT of different plants, with a lot of different methods. This is my research phase of growing that will take a few years, once I get it down pat of what I like and don't like, what works and doesn't work, then I won't need the journals anymore, or I won't need them to be too detailed. But for this research phase, it's all in the details, babe. lol

It's interesting to follow a grow of someone so meticulous and with such attention to detail.

The only time I write anything down is when I have to update my journal :)

Not boring at all, it means you're experienced in knowing what works for you. I hope to be there one day! :high-five:

No, I get it. If I were to embark on such an adventure, with so many different strains and equally many different ways of growing them, I'd also had no choice but to write things down.

But I always do ScrOG, always do hydro... Kinda boring, I know :)

:laughtwo: - I'm definitely an adventure kinda gal, though I like organized adventure. LOL which my friends find funny when we travel. Though my hubby loves it. His favorite motto "you plan so I don't have to think, win win" lol

Yeah, my ex called me Bilbo, not because of hairy feet, but because I dislike adventures of any kind. :)

9/11/16 Week 10: They were flushed and fed today. Keeping temps between 72-75 degrees and Humidity is usually between 45-48% but at night its sometimes between 48-60%.

*FYI: When I state flowering day for these autos, I mean from the first day I saw budlets.

Lemon1: Flowering Day 42 - I did Week 7 of the nutes schedule. Her scent is less intense than it was. Is that's normal?
9/10 ph: flushed (no nutes) 5.30 in 5.75 out (660ppm out)
9/11 ph: flushed 5.60 in nutes 5.46 in (708ppm in) 5.65 out (608ppm out)

Lemon2: Flowering Day 23 - Week 6 of the nutes schedule. Her scent is starting to become a light scent of lemon/pine.
9/10 ph: flushed (no nutes) 5.30 in 5.64 out (519ppm out)
9/11 ph: flushed 5.50 in nutes 5.65 in (747ppm in) 5.78 out (417ppm out)

Lemon3: Flowering Day 29 - Week 6 of the nutes schedule. Her scent is very pungent with lemon/pine, and she's sticky. I snipped the top of most of her buds for some bud backbuilding.
9/10 ph: 5.41 in 5.59 out 809ppm
9/11 ph: flushed 5.65 in nutes 5.41 in (809ppm in) 5.75 out (664ppm out)

Thanks Alchemist, I appreciate the toke and the compliment. lol

I received both my 600w 3wLEDs todays. I placed one on each side of the 800w COB light so now I have an even spread of light. These 600w lights are huge. So I'm loving the coverage.

Here's how the closet looks with all the different plants and the lights.

9/17/16 Week 11 - New 600w 3wLEDs are doing good. I have them hanging about 30" away from plants so they can get use to the light. I also have the 800w COB light about 36" away from the plants in the middle. I'm moving the plants around each day to be under different lights. My electricity was pretty high this month. $75 more than it was last year this month. That's with having two 800w COBs, two 300w LED lights (12/12hr), 4 fans, an air pump and a water pump going pretty much 24 hours plus the central air to cool down grow closet and tent. Hopefully the electricity will go down a bit this month since the 600w LEDs seem to make the closet 10degrees less hot, so the central air has been down a notch now.

I did a flush only today on all plants with ph water only 5.65-5.7ph.

Plant1: Still has more yellowing in the leaves happening. I don't believe it's because of the light burn. Buds look good, fattening up more, the smell is less intense than it was, but still a faint lemony pine, not as sticky as it was either.

Plant2 & 3: Are both very intense with smell and its stickiness.
