NuLife's - Soilless - Raspberry Cough - Grow Journal - 2016

For aerating your water I wad using a fishtank waterfall. Falling water captures air and sucks it into the reservoire. The more practical way is to get an air stone and pump to keep the water oxiginated and ready for use.
If you check my perpetual journal, I described my two bucket system for water from the tap.
I let it sit for 24h+ then as needed transfer that water into my second bucket with dual airstones Bubbling ferociously at all times. Then as I need to in use that water to make my nutrient solutions. Hope that gives you some insight Nunu,

8/11/16 Veg Stage Week 5 - Water Day with nutes. I did Week3 of the nutes schedule. Gave half a gallon of water/nutes instead of a gallon this time. I think that's going to be better for watering more often.

ph 5.76 in 5.87 out - ppm 935

8/13/16 Veg Stage Week 6 - Water Day with nutes. I did Week3 of the nutes schedule. Gave half a gallon of water/nutes instead of a gallon this time.

ph 5.72 in 6.03 out - ppm 935

8/14/16 Veg Stage Week 6 - I've decided since I'm giving less nutes water (1/2 gal) daily during the week that Sunday I will do a flush with gallon of ph water to rinse out any salt/nutes build-up, then a regular feeding with nutes water (1/2 gal). I have done Week3 of the nutes schedule.

It has been a week since defoliating and watching the growth in a week has been very cool. I have come to love the bamboo sticks. I'm finding having these are the easiest way to train the plant to open up into a star shape.

I have defoliated 50 leaves.

ph 5.73 in 5.80 out - ppm 741

Thank you so much. All the plants, and the different strains seem to taking to the defoliating. It seems counter productive but the growth and pictures don't lie. Now I'm wondering if the manifold I'm doing is working out on my Raspberry Cough KindSoil. Never did mainlining before, so I'm trying to learn that technique as well. After this grow, I'll have a better understanding which types of training I'll do going forward. Thanks for the encouragement, appreciate it.

you are making me a believer! defoliating is working well for you; great job!

8/19/16 Week 6 - So I finally got my inexpensive COB lights from Amazon today. These 800w will take my flowering stage up a notch for my lemon OG plants. I put the other 300w light I was using in the closet on the Lemon plants and placed it in the tent with the Raspberry Cough plants. So the 2 Raspberry Cough plants (1 in Kindsoil and 1 in Coco/perlite mix) will have two 300w LED lights in the tent, basically double the power/wattage for flowering stage.

I hung these lights 20-23" away from the plant. I will adjust as needed dependent on if the plants can take it or not.

Before anyone goes on how it's not good to get cheapy lights, I know. But there are some pluses, I figured on a few things, one I have to save to get my premium lights and I want to be productive until then. Premium lights will be next year after I save for them and after I perfect my grow space, my grow skills, and results. I also figured, if they didn't work out I can use them for it's frame if I ever decided to do DIY COBs in the future. Lastly if they do work out, I can use them for side lighting once I get my premium lights or supplemental lighting just in case I ever have to have a premium light sent away for repair or exchange. Not to mention, the cheapy 300w lights have been working out great. They're growing bushy plants with tight nodes, so I figured it was worth trying their COBs as well. So there is a method to my madness. So bear with me, I will post my results either way.

I will be switching to flowering 12/12 hour schedule tonight for flowering.

Thank you Emilya, sorry if I wrote it wrong... for clarity, the new COBs I got are in the Lemon OG and the Northern Lights Journal. The Raspberry Journals have the two regular 300w LEDs (non-COB).

Let's see what those COBs can do!

8/20/16 - Veg Stage Week 7 - So because the Raspberry Cough1 in Kindsoil being mainline trained can use a bit more veg time, I'm going to hold off the flowering schedule a bit longer. She did have one night at 12/12 but we're going to go back to 18/6 so the KindSoil can get a bit bigger first.

I defoliated 55 leaves today, and removed some bottom growth.

8/21/16 Week 7 - It's been a week of feeding everyday, and a flush and feed on Sunday. She seems to be handling it well. I've been doing Week3 of the nutes schedule. She's also handling the lights well, I've lowered it to 18"

ph 5.67 in 5.80 out ppm 705

8/25/16 Veg Stage Week 7 - Before her feeding today, I decided to defoliate her and not wait til the wknd. This plant is very bushy, very dense to the point of worrying about any air getting through the leaves or mold. So I removed about 75 leaves.

She's been fed everyday, though I don't check ph every single day. These are the results of the days I checked.
8/21: ph 5.67 in 5.80 out 705ppm
8/22: ph 5.60 in 5.80 out 821ppm
8/24: ph 5.60 in 5.80 out 821ppm
8/25: ph 5.77 in 5.80 out 900ppm

8/28/16 Week 8 Flowering Day 1 - Doing Week 3 of the nutes schedule. Feeding her everyday, with a flush and feed on Sunday. I've decided to switch her to flowering tonight. I moved her into the Flowering Closet with the COB lights. The lights are at 22" from the plants.

8/26 ph: 5.77 in 5.85 out 900ppm
8/27 ph: 5.77 in 5.79 out 741ppm
8/28 ph: 5.75 in 5.78 out 741ppm

Defoliated 35 leaves.

9/4/16 Week 9 Flowering Day 8 - I felt like she was too bushy and her nodes were too close and I wanted to spread her out a bit, open her up. So I decided to deliberately stretch her. I raised the COB light to 25-26" over her to help her stretch a bit. I've decided to let her stretch, then I will see how to defoliate her once she starts showing budlets.

She was given Week3 of the nutes schedule. I did not flush today, I will flush and feed tomorrow.

9/5/16 Week 9 Flowering Day 9 - So I did a flush and feed today, and removed the bamboo sticks and opened her up a bit better with the coated wire I bought. FYI, *Coated Wire is a must buy, this stuff is great, better than the Garden Twist Ties, better than the Garden Coated Ties, and as much as I love the bamboo sticks they get in the way, and I worry about the roots. So yes, Coated Wires, is the best options, I've found so far.

9/8/16 Week 9 Flowering Day 12 - Plants are looking good, no budlets yet.

Doing Week3 of the nutes schedule.
9/5: ph 5.76 in 5.85 out 815ppm
9/6: ph 5.73 in 5.80 out 1007ppm
9/7: ph 5.73 in 5.95 out 1007ppm
9/8: ph 5.73 in 5.95 out 1007ppm

Lights are at 30-31" away from the plants. I've decided to return one of the 800w COB lights and get two 600w 3wLEDs instead. After speaking with the company rep, they don't think I need two COBs this powerful in the size closet I have (2' deep x 4.5' wide 5.5' high), especially cause I can't raise it higher than where I already have it. So since the 300w 3w LEDs were working out great, I'm just going to double that. So once I get them, I will have two 600w 3wLEDs and a 800w COB light in the middle. I think this would be a good compromise for the size closet I have with giving full coverage and different spectrums of light. I will move the other 300w LED I have in the closet back into the tent with the Aurora Indica plants, right before flowering for even coverage when they get big, bringing the total of two 300w LEDs in the tent. I hope this works out till I can afford premium lighting next year.

9/11/16 Week 10 Flowering Day 15 - She's looking good. I believe the deliberate stretching worked, she's about 12" from the top of the coco/perlite mix. She's still tied down but very bushy, so I defoliated her. I removed about 240 leaves.

Doing Week3 of the nutes schedule.
9/10: ph 5.79 in 5.90 out 862ppm
9/11: flush 5.40 in nutes 5.79 in (862ppm in) 5.88 out (718ppm out)

I received both my 600w 3wLEDs todays. I placed one on each side of the 800w COB light so now I have an even spread of light. These 600w lights are huge. So I'm loving the coverage.

Here's how the closet looks with all the different plants and the lights.

9/17/16 Week 11 Flowering Day 21 - She's looking good, filled out nicely after the aggressive defoliating last week. I did a flush only today with ph water (5.67ph). Budlets are popping up all around.
