I recently HST or "PINCHED" my NYC Diesel plant she was a little under a foot when i did, and i just transplanted from soil to DWC last night-and had to rinse all the dirt off the roots. The rest of the plant looks fine, but the VERY TOP portions looks super limp almost dead, but still all green. Think it could be just stress? The rest of her is nice a perky!

Re: NYC Diesel supercropped &need help URGENT!!

So the part above the pinch is limp? Does it look like its trying to right itself or is it all the way over? A pic might help

I guess all you can do is wait a few days for it to recover, and if it doesn't top it.

Well it looked all fine starting to curve up at the tip but since I transplated from soil to dwc idk maybe I killed it.. Where the pinch is at its like ripped open.. Should I just cut it right below the pinch?

I don't top my plants so I can't really advise you on the how. Im sure you are going to want to cut below the rip though. A pic or ms paint diagram would help others decide where you should make your cut.

Id watch a couple topping videos on youtube. Maybe read a few articles here and then use that info to decide where I would cut it.

Just make sure its really not coming back before topping it.

Should I just cut it below the bend??

Before I saw the pics I was thinking maybe you could just wrap the cut in electrical tape and splint it for few days see what happens...but after looking at the pics thats a pretty severe gash.

If you cut I would just try to make a clean cut without affecting that side growth that is very close to the gash. The growth directly under it looks healthy in the wide shot so I would take care not to harm it during the surgery.

Yea I dont think that the top can get any supplement because of that cut. I kinda doubt a splint would heal that. Its a judgment call, if you feel like its been too long and its unlikely to heal then make the cut.
