Is it necessary to decarb before infusing in a slow cooker for 8-10 hours. I have read some conflicting articles. Second question what is the benefit of using MCT oil rather than others (EVOO, etc). I use the oil orally for a medical condition.

Definitely decarb first. Most slow cookers, on high, will cook the oil (in a water bath) at around 180°. You need higher temps to decarb.

240° in the oven for an hour or 2, then start the infusing.

Any thoughts on Olive oil vs MCT (Expensive in Canada). Any real benefit ?

Depends on what you're making with it.... Baked goods seem to fair pretty well with Olive oil or butter, while gummies seem to take better to fractionated coconut oil or grapeseed oil. Grapeseed also works good for topical oils.
