Corvallis is among the cities planning to participate in the 15th annual Global Cannabis March on Saturday. According to a flier from the Corvallis Cannabis Movement, participants will gather at the Benton County Courthouse at starting around noon and then walk through downtown to visit several medical marijuana dispensaries about 1 p.m. Organizer said the goal of the event – in which nearly 300 cities are taking part worldwide, including Portland – is to gather support for the various efforts to legalize recreational use of marijuana in Oregon. Three initiative campaigns, the Oregon Cannabis Amendment, Oregon Cannabis Tax Act and the Control, Regulation, and Taxation of Marijuana and Industrial Hemp Act will be collecting signatures from registered Oregon voters to put the social cannabis measures on the November 2014 ballot.
