Phantom's Multi-Strain SoG Pheno Hunt

Please let me start off by saying this DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD, anything you would like to discuss or ask about concerning this grow or anything else please refer to Phantom's Skull Cave where anything can be discussed.

My intention is to keep a clean grow journal of just my updates of the grow, mostly of photos. This should make it easy for anyone to look through without having to wade through pages of small talk.

That being said please feel free to use the Like/Emoji button on my posts and definitely check out the discussion thread.

Welcome everyone to the first post of the new fall grow. The purpose of this grow to to search through a handful of strains to find the best of the best to keep as mother plants for future clones. I started out with a few mother plants which I took 50 clones from, that have now been transplanted outdoors. I held back a clone of each strain to keep as a new generation of mothers. This allowed me to flower the existing mother plants alongside their clones outdoors. At the same time I also started any remaining seeds of the same strain as the mothers and a few new strains to boot. These will also be flowered and only the best plant of each strain kept. I intend on keeping everything moving as to get each plant in my inventory flowered by mid-December so I can cull any unwanted mother plants, starting the new year fresh with only a handful of prime mothers ready to be cloned.

Here are the clones growing outdoors.

As you can see a couple are a little wilted due to the high heat of 100F+ we have been having and from the recent transplant. They will be grown using the free sample of GeoFlora nutrients I received.

Indoors in a tent under LEDs I have the seedlings and new generation of mother plants.

These new seedlings are planned to be topped, cloned, and flipped immediately in the new few weeks when they are ready.

Here is a photo showing the clones and mothers outdoors.

Good morning All.

Here is a few quick shots from inside the tent.

Everyone got a little drink of water today. Tomorrow I will mix up a batch of nutrients for the seedlings to give a little growth spurt as I've noticed some yellowing of the leaves. They have not been fed yet so this will be a first for them. I'll probably start around 1 gram/gallon Mega Crop and include some Cal/Mag and Silica also. The mother plants should not need to be fed for a while as I amended their soil with some GeoFlora Veg.

Here are the ladies outside this morning.

Good Friday morning everyone, time for the weekly update.

This week I introduced TPS Signal (terpene enhancer) to the regimen of cal/mag and silica I've been feeding the clones and mothers outdoors with. This weekend I will give both their initial dose of GeoFlora Bloom.

I went ahead and defoliated the seedlings twice this week. They are growing like crazy after getting their first taste of Mega Crop, cal/mag, and silica. I also went ahead and topped off their solo cups with soil since some were only half full. I did find 2 seedling that are whorled phyllotaxy (3‐leaf nodes) and two that I believe are possible polyploids.

Anyways here are some photos from this past week, in chronological order.

Update #3 - Week 1 of Flowering (12/12)

Good afternoon everyone,
Let's get right into it with the photos.

This past Sunday all of the outdoor clones and mother plants received a full dosage of GeoFlora Bloom and a little soaking with the hose. They were watered twice this week (Tuesday and today) with TPS CalMag OAC, Silica Gold, and Signal at the recommended dosage for Week 1 of flowering. The exception is Signal which has no recommended dose until Week 2 of flowering but I couldn't help myself and decided to dose today at 1ml/gal. Sunday I also stopped with the outdoor lights so the plants are now at 12/12 and stretching, most putting on approximately one foot the last 60 hours. So far there is one plant that stands out between the stem rub, it's height, and node spacing. If she can put out nice frosty nugs I will gladly keep her around for sometime. You can see in the photos that 5 clones in the SoG are looking pretty small and crispy. 4 of the 5 will pull through but probably won't amount to much. This is fine since their mother is flowering right there next to them and will amount to something. I believe the reason for the stunted growth is due to damaged roots during the transplant. It appears they have now rerooted themselves and are starting to take off. 3 of the 5 are of a single strain and the other two of another strain. One of the two clones was originally intended to be a mother plant but was dying under the LEDs and I was afraid she wouldn't make it (I doubt she will). So instead I swapped her out for a healthy clone in the SoG to become a new mother inside the tent.

Moving on to the seedlings indoors, all were given 2 waterings this week, one watering was with 1 gr/gal Mega Crop and the recommended doses of each CalMag and Silica. Most (85%+) will get a topping tomorrow and clones started. I will also top the mother plants, who received a 25% recommended dosage of GeoFlora Veg this week. I've also given the Cherry Cookies mother plant a 50% dosage to help green her up some since she hasn't been fed in a long time and is very yellow.

Lastly, I took down the two Cherry Cookies clones that were pollinated with 2 of their reversed sisters. I may end up with a half dozen or so seeds. I wasn't really looking to make a big batch of S1 seeds, only trying out my hand at reversing using STS.

One last thing, I almost forgot, I should have my Gorilla Seeds prize in this afternoon's mail! Once I have those Greenhouse Seeds in my hand I'll post a picture over on that thread and post a link here. I also have a seed order coming in the next week of some old school genetics that I'm really excited about. To top it all off I already received a seed order last week of some awesome '79 Xmas Bud and Pine Tar Kush regular seeds, along with some really cool freebies I was able to share with another member here. It will be fun when the two of us can grow out the Xmas bud and PTK and get it cured for Christmas next year (when I have a little more room ).

That should do it for this week's update.

Late Update #4 - Week 2 of Flowering (12/12)

This week we found ourselves seeing bud sites develop on all of the plants and even some color show up on the outdoor grow. I watered only once this week, mid-week, with the trio of TPS products at their full strength. The plants have reacted very well from the combination of the TPS trio and GeoFlora Bloom.

Now onto the seedlings and mothers, they were not topped last week. I ended up putting it off because of my license exam, as most of you know I had Friday. They will be getting a topping today and clones set aside. Tomorrow I will transplant the topped plants from their solo cups to the 6" square pots and flip them, keeping the cloned tops as the new mothers. This will help me with keep to my original grow schedule which I'm already over by a week. I will move the rooting clones and mother plants into my second tent under some fluorescent lights and keep the flowering plants under my LEDs.

looking good @The Phantom are these all the clones that was put into the cube dirts?

Late Update #5 - Week 3 of Flowering (12/12)

This weekend the outdoor clones in the 6" pots were fed their second feeding of GeoFlora Bloom along with the recommended dosing of the 3 TPS supplements. The mother plants in the 5 gallon fabric pots were fed 3 gr/gal Mega Crop along with the recommended dosing of the 3 TPS supplements. The plants are looking healthy and happy. More color is showing with the Red Mandarin and the purple kush. There's also a faint wife of dank occasionally and the flies definitely like hanging around a few plants.

Indoor grow update in the next post.
Thats gonna be amazing at the end... need to hop a Southwest flight out of Ontario to help you out!

Now for the indoor grow I went ahead and took clones of all my plants this week. The seedlings are in the process of being up potted to 6" pots. Everyone has been getting fed 2 gr/gal MC and the full dosage of silica and cal/mag.

The clones will be held back as mothers. I'm going to take the risk and flip all of the seedlings as soon as I up pot them in the hope I can get plants flowering a week early vs waiting on the clones to root. Hopefully all my clones root successfully.

That will do it for this week's update.

Update #6 - Week 5 of Flowering (12/12)

I missed a week but everything is on track for all my grows. The outdoor plants in 5 gallon fabric pots have received a few waterings since the last update. They are at 2.5 g/gal MC and the recommended dosage of the TPS trio I've been using. The clones got another feeding of GeoFlora Bloom and have been watered a few times with the TPS trio.

The indoor plants were up potted to their final pots and flipped this week. They are being fed 2 g/gal MC and cal/mag + silica. There are a couple with faded leaves because they had missed a feeding when I moved them from the GeoFlora they were on, over to MC like the rest of the ladies. They were clones from the first group that are flowing outside.

The clones will also be up potted this weekend to solo cups.

Honestly I had plans to put some effort into this week's update to make up for missing one but things have already come up with work that have ruined my morning. Maybe once I get back this afternoon frok the job site I'll take some buds shots and post them.

Have a great weekend and don't forgot to keep the journal clean by dropping by Phantom's Skull Cave with your comments. Thank you.

To try and make up for missing a post, here's a mid-ish week photo of the indoor SoG. I super cropped a few branches and will do a few more tomorrow.

Also here is a photo of the transplanted ladies.

Two are looking a little rough so I put them in my mush-room (technically a closet) which is running 89% humidity. I'll let them rest there tonight to perk up a bit.

I'll see you all back at the cave.

Update #7 - Week 6 of Flowering (12/12)

Last week I went ahead and gave the outdoor ladies a good defoliation. They bounced back pretty quick. The buds have really been stretching and fattening up. Currently the 5 gallon mommas are getting 2.5 gr MC, 4 ml Silica Gold, 2 ml Cal/Mag, and 2 ml Signal per gallon of water. The 6" square pot plants get the same minus the MC as they are on GeoFlora Bloom.

20201120_124852.jpg

The indoor clones (future mothers) are doing well after the transplant. There is one Tropicana Poison that is a little droopy but she will pull through with a bit of nurturing. They are currently in a temporary setup until I get a tent moved. I will also be giving them a shot of MC early next week.

20201120_072059.jpg

Lastly is the indoor SoG, most of the plants are headed the right direction, there's just a few that need some attention. I'm holding off on defoliating until we get through the stretch.

20201120_072153.jpg

Next week I will take some time over the holiday to take bud photos of the outdoor ladies.

Have a great weekend and don't forgot to keep the journal clean by dropping by Phantom's Skull Cave with your comments. Thank you.
