Plant grew upside down and cotyledons were under soil and are yellow

Hi all,

First time grower here. I planted 2 seeds about 5 days ago with their taproots at around 1/4 inch with the taproot facing down. One of my plants sprung up super quickly and looks great. The other one produced full blown cotyledons, but kind of deep underneath the soil (deeper than the seed was planted.) I carefully cleared some soil and, with tweezers, flipped the cotyledons out of the soil so that they can get some light. They are yellow and the stem is flopped over.

Just wondering if this was the right thing to do or if I might have messed up my plant.. kind of worried.

What should I have done in that situation? Do you guys think that I might be ok?

Thanks in advance.

If you can correct the problems when the plant is young it should be done. Next time take a needle and make a deep hole to put the sprouts tap root into. That way it won't flip over in the wrong direction.
