I consider marijuana an essential in my home medicine cabinet. While I only very infrequently use it for recreation, I have found relief of PMS (premenstrual syndrome) symptoms (panic, irritability, mood swings, cramps) through marijuana. It only requires a very small amount (one small pipe full-about 3-4 tokes) and once I feel stable, the symptoms do not return during that menstrual cycle.
I have also found that an occasional bad headache can be made more tolerable. The pain doesn't go away, it just feels more like a sensation than pain. Smoking a little (again, a small amount) also takes care of the panic that I sometimes have with a persistent headache (since I don't have them frequently, I tend to feel out of control when I do get a bad one).
