Police Bust Grow House Next To Hope International School in Tampa

Tampa, Florida - Police uncovered over $800,000 worth of marijuana plants at a home within 50 feet of the Hope International School in Tampa Wednesday.

While executing a search warrant of the home at 12501 Mondragon Drive on the morning of April 25, police found approximately 40 plants weighing 280 pounds. Also found was an irrigation system and air circulation system.

Police report the estimated street value of the marijuana at $840,000.

The residents of the home--Elizabeth Guevara-Saavedra, 33, Raudel Gonzalez-Mesa, 34, and Lexiel Dominguez-Guevara, 18--were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Manufacture of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession for Purpose of Trafficking, Trafficking in Marijuana.

Gonzalez-Mesa was also charged with Grand Theft Electricity for receiving the benefit of $18,000 worth of unmetered electrical service from TECO.
