Maumelle Police is calling it the largest amount of drugs their department has ever seized. Nearly 400-pounds of marijuana is discovered in an ambulance.

Maumelle Police found the pot while investigating a report of suspicious individuals Wednesday morning at the shell gas station near the Morgan Maumelle exit on Interstate 40.

The responding officer found three people standing near an ambulance that they said was broken down.

The officer got consent to search the ambulance, and found approximately 3-hundred-85 pounds of marijuana located in various compartments of the vehicle.

(Lt. Jim Hansard, Maumelle Police)"It was a fairly elaborate ruse by drug dealers to use an ambulance to transport drugs. An ambulance just by its construction has many compartments in it to hold contraband."

All three subjects were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Investigators believe the suspects were on their way to Florida. The pot has an estimated street value of $500,000.
