Florida's first medical marijuana dispensary is planning locations in South Florida.

Trulieve is looking into zoning regulations for pot dispensaries in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties with firm plans to open in Miami, the Sun Sentinel reported.

The medical marijuana provider was the first to open a dispensary — a storefront where patients can purchase cannabis with a prescription — in the state, in Tallahasee in July. Trulieve's CEO Kim Rivers told the newspaper that the company plans to open also in Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg and Pensacola. It also has a location in Clearwater.

Palm Beach County is currently looking into how zoning regulations would apply to a dispensary. Delray Beach and Boca Raton are among the cities in Florida to place a temporary ban on medical marijuana dispensaries.
In Miami-Dade, Costa Nursery Farms, operating as Modern Health Concepts, was part of the five nurseries approved last last year to grow medical pot.
