I'm happy with plant 5 for obvious reasons but am confused as to why the others aren't doing as well, hopefully they will pick up over the coming weeks

You are doing a great job man. just remember to lighten the nutes on the smaller plants, just like we dose medications for body weight. One is looking much better, I would lower nutes on 2 and 4. Same thing with water, don't feed the small ones as much as the large. You can tell when you feel the soil, as the small ones won;t use all the water as fast as the larger ones.

But at this stage, it's a fine line

The burn on the tips is only on the older leaves from when i really did over do it, Haven't noticed any new burning and i am keeping a close eye.

I'm no expert...but I always find it more comforting if I fill the soil up to the top.

That could have been the last plant you watered, and the nutes were stronger at the bottom of the bowl. Could be.

Pipe cleaners are a handy tool for tying things as well.

like the pipe cleaner idea, ties always seem too hard/cutting/foreign,I reckon from a plants eye view/opinion the ladies would go for pipe cleaners. as the plastic wire ties would be reminiscent of girdle straps,very uncomfortable indeed for any female species. I know that restraining is the point here so I feel that the bit the fluff on the pipe cleaners would have a softer touch on their skin/cellular walls and do the same job with less discomfort and loss of dignity to ur queens.
