ProfessorFlora's Wilma LED Auto Photoperiod Showcase: First Journal

ProfessorFlora

Grow Journal of the Month: Feb 2019
Welcome one and all to my first journal.

First off we have an auto grow that is about 2 weeks in and the 4 strains that are going to be showcased are at different stages due to 1 being a mutant which i didn't trust and another didn't pop. so 2 were replaced. There's about a week's difference between them.

Then in a week or so we'll have the photo grow underway which will consist of 10 plants.

Alrighty then time for some info.

The auto grow will consist of.....
1m x 1m green qube grow tent
5" JCB extractor fan plus ducting
1 x 12" desktop fan
1 x wilma 4 pot system with 11 litre pots
2 x 400w cob grow lights (200 true watts each)
Canna clay pebbles
Canna aqua vega
Canna aqua flores
Cannazym
PK 13/14
And all the usual gubbins...ec meter, hangers, snips etc

And the strains are....

Sour Melon Mass from Critical Mass Collective
Purple Skunk Mass from Critical Mass Collective
White Widow XXL from Dinafem
Glueberry from Expert Seeds

Time for some pics.....

Yeah, I got kind of excited and thought what the hell. The sad thing is though the finished product isn't mine.....it's my mother in laws. She's not capable of growing her own so I do it for her. I only really need a 60 x 60 veg tent for what I do but I thought I could get the old tent out of the attic and use it as a veg and auto combo. She's not as fussy as I am so 4 autos will do her fine. she doesn't like things too strong so we shal

It is nice that you can grow for her. My mom has arthritis, so I want to learn how to do lotions and oils to give her some relief.

I was looking into making BHO but I didn't want to make it without a vacuum pump and chamber so I could get more of the butane out but it's expensive. And explosive. I looked into Rick Simpson oil as well but I didn't realise that you aren't supposed to smoke it. I prefer to smoke so it didn't appeal to me quite as much. But maybe something like that would be good for her. I've never looked into lotions though. Sounds interesting.

Plenty of info around here somewhere about lotions and various other methods. I can't wait to try them!

First off, good day all.
The 4 autos are doing exactly what it says on the tin.
they are growing lovely. There is a slight deformity on one of the leaves of the Glueberry but it's nothing to worry about. There not drinking enough yet for a reservoir top up and currently there on 520ppm on the ec meter. it'll be interesting soon though because there sharing a reservoir I'll have to up the nutes and go by the oldest 2's growth meaning the youngest plant (sour melon) will be given heavy nutes when normally I'd be going a little lighter. In the next 2 weeks at some point I'll also be adding flower nutes so we'll see how the young one handles it. Personally I think it will be fine because most autos that I've grown have been tough as old boots. Also some photos of my recovering bonsai mothers. I literally reset them after every cloning session by removing all growth except for the smallest leaf or maybe a newly arriving bit of growth halfway down the stem. I don't like my mother's getting bigger than about 8" tall. I like many mothers (about 6 - 8) so I can have different flavours so I don't get too bored. Also I dispose of any mothers that don't make the cut and add new strains as I go.

Also I forgot to mention that these mother plants are quite young, maybe a month and a half of so.
this is because my previous 8 plants all died at the same time! 1 of them suffered from damping off or root ror of some form. You see they share the same tray and as I was watering them i was spreading the disease around and all of them became infected. They looked like they'd melted. Sad times. That's when I decided to buy some new strains and take advantage of some offers on attitude. What I do is grow several different strains but they have to be from the same breeder. This time were on to Caliconnection. I'm more than aware of the controversy surrounding their company however I've never tried any of there strains so I thought I'll see for myself. The mothers are as follows....
Unsexed Tahoe OG Reg
Black Kush
San Fernado Vally OG Kush
Boss Hogg
Island Punch
Fruit Tree (The Gold Line)

Should be interesting to see if there reputation is deserved. I've got enough of there genetics to give me a good idea what there about.

Peace

My new LED light just turned up in the post but I don't think it's a sponsor so I'm not sure I can say what it is. What I can say is that it does run considerably cooler than what I was using before and if the hype is to be believed it should keep my temps in my tent down whilst giving me a better quality of light. I'll be using the new LED for my photo grow and probably retiring my old ones because the uv and ir diodes have burnt out. In fact I'll probably be retiring several grow lights because I've become a bit of a hoarder and collected 12 over the years. Does anybody else have any experience with uv diodes in particular burning out? It's happened on 3 of my LED grow lights now.
Peace

Some pics of my plants that were savaged by heat. There coming up to week 9 now and they look more like week 4. They've got a week left until I need the space. They may get a little more time if the clones aren't ready. Sorry about the poor pic quality, I must get a better camera. Peace

On a side note the camera is not really showing just how covered in crystals they are (or how much they smell) and even though they are beyond saving i think there still going to taste good. Many crystals are cloudy but they just don't have any body to the bud structure. I consider this my second worst (unluckiest) grow....But we won't go there.
Peace
