LOS ANGELES — A couple hits of Mary Jane can really spark an artist's creativity.

Marijuana has been said to get the creative juices flowing, and at Los Angeles' Antebellum Gallery the evidence will be on display in their exhibition 420: Cannabis As Art, fittingly opening on April 20, the unofficial stoner's holiday.

Curator Rick Castro says smoking weed definitely "inspires artists to create pretty amazing things." The work on display proves that with portraits made of roaches from joints and a drawing made on Zig-Zag wrappers.

Though there will be some actual ganja hanging on the walls, Castro says the only buzz anyone could get from it would be a headache from the glue used on it, so attempting to smoke the art is not a good idea.

He hopes the show further promotes the legalization of marijuana in California and is "optimistic" that 4/20 will become a real holiday very soon.
