successfully germinated and got seedligs transplanted to small pots from solo cups..one seedling got singed badly by CFL ..but is recovering. It is however a few weeks behind. Some pictures. PK3 (Groot as I call her) is the smallest one on top of a reversed pot to get her closer to lights..she is behind so i stuck her in a small pot. They are all same age from same 5 seed order.
this grow is my winter grow. The evening temperatures go as low as 16C and these girls do not seem to mind one bit..i keep the average day time temp at 21C with a full on small oscillating fan and no misting or tent. This is an open light table i built to hold a maximum of 6 plants to 8 if I wanted to throw some tomatoes on before spring. The pots are home made air pots ..used a soldering iron to pop holes in sides. The soil is composite mix of african violet mix with Grow Herb vegtable mix and worm castings ..i added about 3 cups of perilite to one 5 gallon pail of dirt mix..also added a little blood meal , charcoal / ash ..dust from campfire..and a small amount of recycled coco coir..i water when pots are"light"..Lighting is 2 x 4 foot daylight aquarium for blue spectrum, 7 x 5600 K CFL, and 4 x red spectrum tomato lights..see pictures
