Question about autos

Re: Question about auto's ?

Nope, that's the difference between auto's and photoperiod.

The auto has some ruderalis in it which will make them flower after a genetically determined amount of time, regardless of the light cycle. I keep my auto's on 18/6 but plenty of folks go 20/4 or even 24hrs straight.

Re: Question about auto's ?

I'm doing a few photos 12/12 straight from seed and threw an AK-48 auto in there as well....it's doing the best out of all of the plants...tho they are all looking pretty good.

I'm reading many thing's about autos, but do u not switch the light cycle to 12/12 in flowering?
When you flip from 18/6 to 12/12 we dont do that for the flower cycle because the plant has started to flower but rather we do that to trigger the plant to start the flower cycle. Changing from 18/6 (long summer days) to 12/12 the plant thinks fall is coming so it starts to flower. The gene in autos come from a place were weed grows that has a very short summer so the weed adapted and just starts its flower cycle early no matter what the light cycle is. So 18/6 all the way.
