I noticed today some algae on my hydroton which is the rock in my 8 bucket waterfarm system... only on a few buckets... how do i get rid of it and prevent it?

Harmless. Algea wont hurt anything, it just looks like hell.
adding oxygen will only make the problem worse. Cover the top of your pots with black plastic, to block the light, no light means no photosynthesis means algea (a plant) dies. I cover my nute tank, to keep algea from clogging my pumps and irrigation, but I dont bother with the plant tank..too much work considering it wont hurt anything anyway...
