Question regarding carbon filter

I'm new at indoor growing and have a question regarding Cool Cab carbon filter. Manufaturer says that the filter contains 5 lbs. of carbon. Thats not the problem, once the filter was afixed to the back of the unit the heat changed by atleast 5 degrees higher. This tells me that the exhaust fan isn't strong enough...What do you think???

You need a more powerfull exhaust fan.

are you pulling or pushing the air? Makes a huge difference as most (if not all) fans pull air better than they push air. You may need to swap the fan to the other side of the filter. Also filters are made with an intended cfm fan rating, check the papers and make sure you have the suggested size. They may label only the max., in this case you want to be close WITHOUT exceeding it.
