Are feminized seeds worth it? What about hermaphrodism? Isn't there a greater propensity for the plants to do this?

2nd question: I'm getting ahead of myself here, but, when you harvest and cut the leaves off the cola, do you trim flush with the cola or down by the main stem?

They're pretty handy for those that do not wish to grow male plants.

What about hermaphrodism? Isn't there a greater propensity for the plants to do this?

Why would someone go to the effort of inducing male flowers in female plants in order to produce feminized seeds and not first make sure that the parent stock was not prone to hermaphrodism? Seems like a waste of time & effort and a sure way to ruin the breeder's reputation.
