Raiven's 1st Indoor Grow - THC Bomb Auto - 2014

Way earlier in the journal here there was some suggestion that FFOF is too hot for small MJ plants. I use a fraction in my mix so it is not a problem. You would want to add some or something like it to the Pro Mix. It has a nice mineral content and lots of organic matter.

The Yum Yum is great stuff. What I really like about it is that it provides a nice short cut. You could buy separate containers of all the things that are in it, but it would cost a ton and you'd have more than you know what to do with. It is available on Cramazon. It is a regional product that you are not likely to find in stores in your part of the country.

Worm castings are optional. I've used the mix both with and without castings and both work well. The one with added castings does a little better.

The added perlite improves drainage so you are less apt to over water or create a muddy medium. It would be optional, but a nice addition.

The Excellerite is great for buffering and adding all the odd trace elements to the medium. There is another product that works very well called Azomite. Neither is terribly expensive.

Both the guanos are optional. They are a nice addition. Both the high P guano and rock phosphate are what I use to differentiate the veg soil from the flower soil. It's the same as switching to a flowering nute regimen.

All you do is mix the stuff up in the appropriate ratios. Then you can throw away the meter and stop messing and guessing with nutrients.

For the baby plants in the soilless mix, they don't need much food at all, just like a human baby. We're talking like 1/10th strength once to get them though the first twenty days. I would not be concerned with altering the pH for the babies. Just use tap water.

This is such a great help PeeJay I cant thank you enough...
+Reps for you today!!

I am going to pull together as many of the ingredients you mentioned as I can before transplant time into 3 gallon pots...

The baby girls have not had any nutes at all yet...
I put the rockwool cubes into the new mix yesterday and just watered them till I saw some runoff...
Do you think I should give them a tiny does of veg nutes today to get them started? Or just let them be for how much time before feeding?

No, don't feed yet. They are making all the sugars they need via photosynthesis. They won't need anything for about a week. Don't water for a few days. Placing them around 2-3" under the cfls will prevent stretch and encourage tight node formation.

My soiless mixture is pH neutral between pH 5.8 - pH 6.5 so you adjust the pH of your nutrient mixture to adjust the pH of the medium the plants will absorb the nutrient from.

You want pH 5.8 for hydroponic and soiless (peat moss and coco coir) and pH 6.5 for soil.

Here is a nutrient availability chart

Day 68
Veg. Day 57 / Bud. Day 18
08-17-14 7:00 pm

Did a bit of lollipop trimming on all the plants today
Thinned them out by removing a bunch of fan leaves and dead growth

Moved the SMALL PLANT into flowering today as well...
It was getting bud sites all over it in the veg chamber so I built up a platform and set it in with the larger plants to see what I can get out of it

Cant wait to harvest these budz... The shed smells amazing everytime i open it
the buds are starting to dense up a bit

Im gonna try to get a microscope image of the trichs tonight

When are these suppose to finish? Looking good man.

Thanks Shadow!!

Well the problem in this grow was me hahahahaha...
I screwed up right from the beginning with my attic room that ended up being too hot...
Then I brought them down into my studio room and they were too low under the light...
My nutes and schedule were off right from the start I believe...
And I left them in veg to stretch too long I think...

These are AUTOs and should have already been harvested...
Im on day 73 total and so far have been in flowering stage for 23 days

So Im not totally sure when they will be done...
I was going to check the trichs tonight and see where they are color wise...

Let me know any thoughts you have on it!!

:thanks:

Hey Raven, love the crystals you have forming! I can't help you with Auto's. I don't know anything about them. They look good though, keep up the good work my friend.

Thanks Shadow...
I dont know anything about autoS either hahahaha...
I tried to take advantage of the short flowering feminized THC bomb Auto as a newbie...But my lack of any and all knowledge set me back weeks past its 55-60 day grow span...
Im not sure how much longer they will be needing to flower...I checked the trichS with my 100x magnifier and they all look perfect yet crystal clear ... im gonna give them as much time as they need until the trichS become cloudy...

Day 75
Bud. Day 25
08-24-14 7:00 pm

Did a full feeding today using the WEEK 7 FFSFS

Plants are doing great,,,
I decided to take off the lower growths to promote top cola growth on all the plants...
Since this is the first ever grow and its already eff'd up a bit I figured I would take off all the tiny flowers on the bottoms of them since they probably wont amount to much anyway...
I used this opportunity to practice trimming and drying...Also started my freezer bag of trimmings to make bubble hash!!
The popcorn buds I took off weight 5.75 grams wet
After one day of drying out they were visibly about 1/3 the size of when they were cut off...

Check out the pics below and let me know your thoughts!!

Hi Raiven! Sorry I haven't been here for a while, been really busy for a few weeks, but wow look at you!! Its like another grow! Even little problem girl perked up!! :bravo:

Never ending rivers of wisdom spewing from PeeJay in here like anywhere PeeJay goes, Lol he sold me on the yum yum, azomite, guanos and general approach too. My indoor grow that will be starting really soon is going to be a new approach for me, no more messing with pH, only going to be using bottled nutes as supplements throughout the grow rather than sticking to any regimen, (what a shame, I spent tons on bottled nutes!!! :O) training styles I've never used, organic preparations for my soil in different steps, god. 420 mag has brought me to a new world of growing, and looks like it certainly has for you too ;) keep it up!

Way to go Raiven! Like that white frost! And welcome to the world of organics. Remember way early on when I mentioned that I rarely messed with pH? I could tell you thought I was a little wack.:cheesygrinsmiley: You have a great Sifu in PeeJay. :Namaste:

Thanks BL!!!
The thought never crossed my mind hahahaha...
But I am really feeling the organic way of life, at least with my girls...
PeeJay has been an amazing source of information and inspiration, not to take anything away from all the other great masters on here who have helped me in the beginning!!

:peace:

SG!! Welcome back!!!
BUSY is a quiet way of putting it for what seems like everyone LoL...
I tell you it even feels like a whole new grow...I feel way more confident and at ease with most aspects of growing now...The little girl came around quite a bit...I feel like her yield will be minimal but great learning process...

PeeJay has been nothing short of amazing...Exactly what I was looking for, a mentor...Really helped me understand and envision the best grow...

I wish I hadnt spent the money on nutes either but at the same time it was good to learn the non-organic way and now switching to full organic...

This forum and 420mag in general have definitely raised me to a whole new level...I mean the wealth of information and the willingness of strangers to help each other achieve this common goal is unmatched...

***INTERMEDIATE SMOKE TEST***

I did a smoke test with the teeny pop corn buds last night ...
Obviously they had not been dried completely as it had only been 2 days but looking at it I had to try it...

It was a smooth hitting bud with a body stone feel to it...
Burned fine and tasted nice ...

Letting the rest of it dry out the rest of this week and then going to cure it in a jar for another week...Or I might end up smokin it who knows hahaha...

I cant wait till the real harvest!!!

:Namaste:
