Refilling a Carbon filter with new activated carbon

Hello everyone

I have a question. Is it possible to refill a carbon filter bought form a store with new active carbon or do i have to buy a whole new carbon filter?

I know it's possible with my no-name filter. It's held together by sheet metal screws. I plan on refilling it for around $20 verses buying a new one for over $100.

You can do it however they use machines to compress the carbon into the filter too.

I recommend Phresh Filters because they last for 2-3 years. So by that time buying a new one is justified. If it was like once a year that'd be pricey.
