Thank you mates. Another small update. The Ultradawg force flowers are almost ready to harvest. Boy does it smell good, very fruity, but also heavy notes of citrus and spice.

Then, the other little group of UW's finally have rebounded, and should be able to do some decent growth in the next few weeks.

These are the (3) Ultradawg clones and (1) single Underdawg mother. These were in veg at 18/6 for awhile, and they were released 2-3 weeks ago for some natural growth and flowering. Hoping they veg a bit first obviously given that we are in the peak daylight hours

Couple shots of the nearly ripe Ultradawg ("boom pheno"), really intense diesel flavors coming out (pine,citrus,skunk) mixed in with "fruity tooty spice" undetones. Should be ready to chop in the next few days. Small buds, but I could not water her much in order to avoid mold in the June gloom conditions.

Real happy with my Ultra Waui (Ultradawg x original Maui Waui), found a couple of great female phenos. Can't wait to see what her flowers turn out like, I can only imagine as I have tasted both of her parents.

That Ultradawg was harvested a week ago - it has since been dried/curing. Today I vaped a bowl of it and was quite satisfied with the cleanliness - must have been the water washing working its magic. Hard to get clean weed outdoors. It's great potent bud, the buds are a little small and bit leafy though (so nothing budporn worthy)

Anyway here is an update on my main Ultra Waui girls, who have retained their posture, but just grown a bit more vertically. Real happy with these ones, they are getting chewed up by the thrips, which don't seem to be effected by the Azamax (another dose soon). Look at the sativa on these babies.

So keep in mind that this is a cross I made by taking an original Maui Waui female (these were old seems from Nirvana) and pollinated it with an Italian-bred Ultradawg ("boom pheno"). So the dominant budding characteristics from this resulting hybrid should be that of the Maui Waui.

Now, what I'm planning to do next with the other little plants, is take a male Ultra Waui and then back-cross into a female Ultradawg to retain/recapture the dominant female budding characteristics of the magnificent Ultradawg boom pheno.

This new strain should be completely different, this I might call the Maui Dawg...

Indeed, this is first time in a couple years I planted seeds in Spring to grow throughout the entire season. Everything was always a clone that was either flowering naturally or force flowered. It's real nice to have something grow naturally, been awhile.

The Ultra Waui is doing fantastic. She's looking like a super-sativa. Stems have a fruity feel to them, and there is a skunk output coming on. Real excited to see what kinda terpenes she throws out in the next couple months.

Now on the other hand I have my little breeding project which is about to go underway. Here's hows it's going:

I noticed that my 3 female Ultradawg clones (daughters of the recently harvested lady) have begun to flower naturally. This is pretty early to begin flowering so rapidly (this also must be because it was from such old stock, flowering proteins build up). Anyhow, I have set aside 3 very nice Ultra Waui males that I detected early (again this is the Ultradawg x Maui Waui that I crossed). Since these males were not going to flower in time for proper pollination, I had to force-flower them to jumpstart, and catch up.

Now I will likely force flower the males/females all together and allow for proper pollination to create my second strain, so to recap on the story here:

1) Ultra Waui - crossed by taking a male Ultradawg and pollinating a female Maui Waui

Now what I plan to do is reverse the dominant traits and back-cross it:

2) Ultra Wowie - this will be a male Ultra Waui pollinating a female Ultradawg. This should really accelerate the genetics in the resulting hybrid (which appears to be highly sativa dominant).

Lastly, I have his ultimate preciousness (Underdawg, which was crossed by ol' Lembatoast and is what he called "UNKNOWN x NYCD X CHEM91"; he said that unknown strain was some of the best pot in the 90's (which I can attest to, as I have grown the plain Unknown as well as the plain Underdawg, both are unbelievable strains).

3) What I attempt to do is pollinate this female Underdawg with a male Ultra Waui to create the resulting strain I'll just call it Lester's Special Cross.

The females are a little small, but hopefully I can get some proper pollination and achieve this goal. Pistils are starting to get wild, so the time to pollinate is soon.

Almost ready to begin pollination of the Ultradawg (boom pheno), with the male Ultra Waui. Soon as those sacs start opening up.

Male UW, followed by the female UD, to create the Ultra Wowie (back-crossed) variant.

Then, a couple pics on the "for-bud" crop with the different Ultra Waui plants. Since this is the F1 generation since the cross, there are likely a couple of different phenos to explore. I have already cloned the nicest specimen.

Overall really happy with the UW. I'm blown away by the good tendencies, hybrid vigor, but also because it is the F1 generation since the crossing-over b/t the genetics

The Ultradawg and Underdawg have been successfully pollinated by the Ultra Waui's. The male Ultra Waui's were promptly destroyed to prevent any unwanted pollination. So far so good! Calyxes are beginning to bulge and it looks like the seeds are being formed (fingers crossed). Will update those plants later on when the seeds start bulging more.

For now, the Ultra Waui females are doing fantastic and are beginning to flower naturally now (first time!), today I will quench with a Dr. Earth Flower Girl tea (4-5-4) to help the transition into forming flower heads. They've also been loving the recent weather, with lows at night around 71 F.

Next is the pollinated Ultradawg (by the Ultra Waui), though the seeds are smaller and better hidden on this plan, they are not bulging as much and are well protected. Needs some more time to mature, as clearly the seeds on this one are developing more slowly compared to the Underdawg

Then a couple shots of the flowering/female Ultra Waui. Recently sprayed with azamax to defend against the mites and any potential moths or butterflies. These appear to be fast flowering sativa phenos, some of the terpenes coming from the stems have a strong linalool smell (making it smell like lavender)

Fair amount of growth in 10 days. Budding has progressed for the Ultra Waui's. Very happy to see the desired characteristic of a sativa dominant plant with the budding rate of an indica! A couple are on schedule for a mid-September harvest, at this rate.

And I'm pretty sure these are all different phenos based on the different terpene/flavor profile of each one (plus its the first gen)

Then, some of the seeded plants are still taking a long time produce seeds, but I've already found some starting to ripen. The Ultra Dawg crossed with the Ultra Waui male (mini plants)

And this is the Underdawg that was pollinated with the male Ultra Waui, producing nice seeds.

Those have been on a force flowering schedule

Seeds from those plants have been harvested (still processing them) - very many tiger striped and mature seeds. Very happy to report the successful hybridization resulting in 2 new strains. Next will be to dry the seeds out a little bit (partially), and then long-term storage in the fridge around 34-35 F for several months. Those will be ready for next spring.

A possible breeding project next year entails hybridizing those 2 strains to create a further new strain. It any case, it will be exciting to grow some flowers of these new strains and see how the flavors are.

Also excited to see how the Ultra Waui turns out, buds are looking good, hoping the moths/butterflies don't attack.

Thanks buddy, ain't that the truth. The seeds were aerated a bit, burped for about a week, then placed into the fridge capped/parafilmed (inside a mason jar, with a little bit of dessicant), and will let those go into dormancy for a few months.

The Ultra Waui's are doing fantastic, they were fed with another dose of Dr. Earth's Flower Girl, 24 hour brewed tea and top-dressed with the sediments
