New light above the girls, I'm in love! Such a nice bright white light let's see how they react! Added in some pics for fun as well

These little girls are now at 15 days above soil, GG#4 must be a resilient strain that I've managed to get all 5 this far haha

The two below are pictures of plants I seeded a few days before as dummy runners to kind of test things on and see how they do

Temps were sky rocketing to around 35 degrees celcius, so bought a aircooler or whatever and going to try that out and see if it can get the room temp to around 25 or so...
It keeps the RH at about 65 when it's on.
Not sure wether that's a good RH in veg but will have to go with it for now

Topped all the gg#4 girls last night. Really hoping I did it correctly. I'll be going away for 6 days and won't be able to check on them until I come back.

Have left them on and 18/6 light schedule and gave a good feeding today hoping that it will last all 6 days, been going 5 days before watering at the moment so holding thumbs that this will be alright.

Room temp is at 23,5 degrees celcius and RH is at 62%

Really nervous for this week away but hopefully I've set them up with some good growning conditions and when I get back it's not to late to try starting some lst.

So I get back today to my plants looking extremely sad, it's actually heartbreaking. Cooling system seemed to have stopped working for some reason or other and I'm guessing the Temps sat around 33 degree celcius (95 Fahrenheit) and the RH was at 15% when I walked into the tent. Everything just went to shit while I was away.

I've started cooling the room down and gave the girls a drink of plain water to hopefully try and save them. Really hoping they not to far gone now

Maybe someone can give me a hand at identifying what the issue is? Maybe I overwatered before leaving for holiday?

2 days later and the girls are still looking sick

Although the two plants that were planted 2 weeks before are looking alright.

Really not to sure what's going on here. The only thing I have done differently is use a different soil and I'm beginning to wonder if that's not the cause for the stress?

Or would the older plants have been able to handle the heat better?

Keep them cool and hydrated, they should come around. They don’t look all that bad really.

I've been trying to, ok thanks for the advice.

Will try keep them cool and see how it goes. Really worried the soil is too barky as I read somewhere that could be a problem

What’s your ph?
A lot of bark will turn the soil too acidic.

Soil pH is between 6,8 and 7. Not sure if I should drop that? Water pH is in between 6 and 6,5.

I think maybe I topped too soon? Do you count the first leaves as a node? Above the cotyledon?

That would be node 1 yes. 6.8-7 is pretty high.

Really? ok I'll do some research into finding ways to lower the PH of my soil. Thanks very much for the advice. I really do appreciate it. Does that mean it shouldn't be the soil that's causing those problems?

If there's a lot of bark the soil probably isn't helping any.

Day 25 above soil

So after the stress these girls went through of high heat, low humidity and I'm pretty sure I Over watered them even after reading @Emilya post on watering proper plants.

Rookie error that could have been avoided if I hadn't gone away for those few days over christmas

But I took advice given to me by @Pennywise and the gg#4 girls seem to be pulling through.

What I did....

1. Left them alone for 3 days
2. Put a fan on directed straight at them in order to try and dry out the soil
3. Got my RH and temp in the room RH is now in between 50 and 60 percent and the temp is around 74f
4. Removed any leaves that were badly damaged or completely shriveled yesterday

Now I'm not sure if this was the correct approach to take although it does seem to have helped them a bit and I've started seeing some new growth although they will probably be stunted.. I'm actually not sure ( have no idea)

Now these next to plants were my testers... I figured I may as well add them because they are part of my first grow...

This one I let go and tried my hand and topping and think I fimmed her by mistake but oh well she seems to be growing alright

Now this one all I know is it's a regular afghani roadkill and I tried my hand at topping and training it... Seems to be doing alright. But I'm not too sure where to go from here... Do I let it just grow out or give a go at a scrog? Being my first grow I'm leaning towards just letting it bush out but I'm not sure?

So today during inspection I found these little shits in my soil and would really like some help trying to identify them. They are only in the soil and not around the plant or leaf at all. I don't see damage to the leaves or stem as of yet but I'm worried they are some sort of larvae or root killing little bastards...

If anybody can help me identify them I would greatly appreciate that. I've researched everything I can and I'm at a loss.

They don't look like spider mites, aphids or white fly so I'm really stuck

Hmm not sure. Possibly fungus gnats larvae? Root aphids?
Other than that let them dry a bit . If fungus gnats you will see the adults soon enough. Then some peroxide in water and that will finish them off.

Looking ok for now. Just gotta let them do their thing now without too much meddling .
