RQS Critical 6-Pot RDWC 1st Grow

I have most of the stuff here to get into a 4 bucket dwc system but would need all the fitting to do rdwc.. Ordered it all and was waiting for the right time lol then I bought fish and tanks and ended up using some of my equipment there haha I should just up and start one now but I got 6 babies that will end up taking up majority of my veg space before going into the flower room. Maybe after that round I will try a couple out.
always a lot of support available when you take the plunge mate

That's an amazing rig you have there. I think I'm gonna beg my friend who's actually good with tools to build me one lol.
Thanks man!
Hope it turns out all well :)

it is the cubes mate. they retain so much water anyway and it can waterlog. Clay pebbles alone are different and wont hold so much water. Rockwool does let air in but wont push water out, If your wetting them constantly ,it can create issues. also getting the roots to leave the comfort of a water supply locally. The water will wet the pots from the popping bubbles underneath and encourage the roots to dive into that oxygenated cocktail of her favourite nutes. :goodjob:
Allright makes sense, let them roots take a dip in that Jacuzzi bucket!
At what height would you recommend to put the rockwoll cubes in the net pots? At the bottom, middle or on top..

Great set up you have there. I'm going to sub up for this grow and keep an eye. I have always been interested in dwc but haven't taken the plunge yet, needed to get other things dialed in and upgrade on equipment first. So I will learn some more from your grow and maybe try to help out where I can. Best of luck!
Allright, nice to have you onboard of my first rdwc grow.

Awesome looking system! Ill tag along if you don't mind. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with! Happy growing.
Thanks man! Don't mind at all, will keep things posted :)
Happy growing

you can place them on the bottom of the pot and fill around it with balls.. your feed pipe also needs to not be pointing at the cube as it will saturate it too much. Those bubbles will pop and dampen the rockwool.

Allright, asking because I also saw people putting them on top.
I don't have a feed pipe line from above like yours. On the bottom of the buckets are holes where the feeding water passes through.

same as mine peter. the one in the top is my airline. The pipe from res can be positioned to run against the inside wall of the pot. ,This can reduce the sound of running water if stealth is needed .

Harvest time for my RQS Critical over next day or so. Some amber trichromes starting to form but still have some clear ones too. watching her closely now. Wish i had ti.e to have vegged her more and trained better too . The buds look solid though so should do ok i think. You will be in the same position soon enough mate. only 7 weeks and a few days to flower too.

Btw. I bought the system for around £200, it comes almost close to building it yourself. So I saved myself the trouble and just bought it.

Ah that's good to hear! Really short flowering strain only 7 weeks, I thought at least 8.
Lets see some pics of the buds :D

will be taking pics on harvest tomorrow so will have bud porn. lol
will be about 10 days slow drying with no trimming at all until completely dry and ready to smoke. All the sugars should be twinkling nicely like diamonds.

Can't wait to see the pics!

Small update.
Riased the seedlings to the T5 lamp and QB's run at 30% power to prevent more stretch.

Looking good! They should slow down that stretch for ya now. May just have to bury the cubes a little farther in the clay pebbles. Where do you normally place your rockwool? Towards the top, bottom or around the middle of the pebbles?

To be honest with you, this is my first time growing in rdwc. So I had a suggestion from ganjagrandaddy to place them at bottom and carefully fill up with clay pebbles to sort of protect the stam.

Good thinking. It's also a good way to get more roots developing that way. Any area of the stem that you bury and doesn't have access to light will actually start to grow roots after a while. It's a win-win for sure!

Serious! Def a win win there :)
