Ok, Got 'er done! First round of harvest ..starting with Skunk. These three colas measured 64g total wet...hoping to have 2oz to put in the COB...it'll be close...more like 1.7+oz I guess. EDIT: got my math backwards. I should expect to lose 75-80% of the weight, right? So 64g(wet) will end up being around 1/2oz dry (13-16g, hopefully more). I guessing I haven't even taken 1/4 of what she's produced. I'll probably COB another 2 oz from her next weekend and then start looking at WW and GSC - they'll be 8 weeks of flower by then. I wanted to COB this as an early harvest to trigger a more cerebral trippy high, so they have very little amber trichs and probably a little more than 50% cloudy.

Welp, as soon as the buds are hung up to dry with care, today we've got rain and warm so even with my AC on to reduce temp to 71F, my RH is not getting under 67% so the drying process has been delayed. I guess that's fine, it's just a wait it out period of patience so...I will wait. These buds will be COB'd tomorrow or the next day. I think 80% RH is cool for COBs...anyone?

So here's a shot of what was left after taking the 3 colas yesterday. Not a whole lot removed really, since I've got at least 20 more that size or bigger still to come (and growing)...

I noticed about 2 weeks ago a strange coloration on the tips of the WW fan leaves...thought it was some kind of deficiency or nutrient lock or burn, but not sure...

Yes some strains show it more. Perfectly normal. How much longer before harvest roughly? I wouldn't worry too much at this stage and just run them to the end.

80% is perfect for cobbing up some buds!

This weekend will be 8 weeks in flower for all 3. I've started early harvest on Skunk two days ago based on trichs and will be looking at others this week to determine level of completion. I'm going for 2 levels of trichs to test - mostly clear with few if any amber, and then mostly or all cloudy with 30% amber or more. This way I can see if COBing different levels of trichs makes a difference in final cure.

And we're off!! I let the buds dry from 64g down to 38g and said ENOUGH! Into the COB! March, I say, MARCH!!

I'm just squishin' and rollin' right in the vaccum bag! Why waste anything! Double sealed on both ends (this bag came with the machine pre-made with one end open.

I took another bud today to get a real "smoke" test other than COB on this harvest level. Trichs are still mostly clear with a few amber tops, a few cloudy. Tough to get pictures with loop held next to phone lens...This is a 12g wet trimmed bud.

Two days of drying at 65F and 40% RH and I'm starting the burp. It was down to 8g and I trimmed off another g to dry faster and test. Will know soon!

I had some other pics I forgot to post yesterday...lol. I wonder why.

The white widow is going to have some amazing colors when she's complete. The green calyxes and orange pistils with purple/red/plum sugar leaves and coated in sugar crystals will be pretty. The first shot below doesn't capture it with the HPS shining on it...

They're starting to do a little foxtailing, but I don't care what they look like. If they are still growing, then I'm all for it!

Ok, couple more skunk buds harvested today...this time a single "rinse" in distilled water since I don't have another container handy to do mutiple washes. First bud 37g wet (before wash), 2nd bud 23g wet before wash. Both will go into another cob in a few days, or maybe I'll pick a nug off the big one to cure separately. WW and GSC still putting out white hairs while foxtailing, and could have 2-3 more weeks still to finish. WW will be last, but looked at trichs of GSC and they were all still clear, no cloudy, no amber.

Next round, GSC (from what I think ... remember these all got mixed up at the beginning and I'm kinda guessing). Trimmed-ish weight wet prior to rinse at 64grams! I looked at trichs really closely on a few of the colas and there were a surprising amount of amber tipped but hardly any full amber. This should still be a pretty "wired" high I'm hoping at this early harvest.

Leaves are definitely getting cannibalized but also turning fall colors...

And trimmed up before weighing...

Hanging to dry after rinse...can definitely tell that the tops are getting different light and changing darker much more with more maturity as well. Bottom of the bud is obviously less mature with some white pistils still. Will let some of these colas go an extra week or two to get max color and thc...
