Seed viability immediately after harvest?

So I gave my buddy a few seeds directly from my plants. He plans to try germinating them right away. Is that going to be an issue? Will seeds germinate immediately after harvest or do they need to dry out? I never attempted growing them so quickly after harvest (I usually wait until the following outdoor season).

Tell him they wont germ until 2 rounds of eating & pooping them out have been completed, Its the wealth of stomach enzymes that makes em ready... ha ha!

They germinate the best when they are fresh. Do it all the time.

Thanks guys — I will let you know how it goes. I gave him a healthy plant earlier this year and he managed to kill it in a month so..... Anyway he is a good guy and will try his best!
