This is Second Grow. My first grow journal is in my signature, I had to abandon it because I went away for work a little over a month before harvest. My wife reluctantly finished my grow all the way through Cure, getting her to do the journal also, was not gonna happen. She did a great job and the finished product was awesome.

Ok so for my Second Grow (I'm going to finish this one) I have picked different strains and made some other changes. I went with autos this time for a faster end result and so I could grow different strains in the same tent. I'm starting with five plants

Strain:
1 Dinamed CBD Auto seed
2 Blue Dream Auto seeds
2 THC Bomb Auto seeds

Indoor grow: 6.5x6.5x6.5 grow tent

Soil: Fox Farms Ocean Forest 70%, Perlite 15%, Vermiculite 15%

Lighting: 2x 600w MH/HPS air cooled hoods , 2x cfl fixtures (6 lights), 1x fluorescent UVB light

Ventilation: 2x 440 CFM Fans with ducting and carbon filter

Nutrients: GH Floraseries performance pack, PH up & Down, GH Calimagic

In about a month and a half I'm going to germinate 5 more. My first grow I had 14 plant in the tent and it was a little crowded so I'm gonna do a ten plant max in my tent from now on.

I Germinated the seeds yesterday August 10 2018 at 9:13pm each strain was put in its own solo cup 3/4 full with R/O water one drop of Superthrive and a dusting of rooting powder. The cups were then covered and put in the tent in the dark. All seeds have sunk as of 5pm today.

Taproots were showing so time to plant them. I planted 1 BD and 1 THC directly into 3 gal pots. The DMCBD, 1 BD, and 1 THC were planted in solo cups. They will be transplanted in a week or so into 5 gal pots. All soil was flushed with 6.51 PH’ed RO water before the seeds were dropped in.
The 6x 23W 6500k CFL lights were turned on and will be on 24/7 until I turn the 600w MH lights on then I will be on a 20/4 light schedule.

DAY 5: Everything is looking good. THC1 has broke the surface just waiting on the other four now

DAY 10: Went away this weekend came home and neither Blue Dream has sprouted yet.
Both Thc Bomb and the Dinamed CBD are looking great.
Each BD got about half a cup of Ph- 6.50 water poured directly where the seed should be

The three seedlings got the same water maybe a little less then a quarter cup around the edge of the pot/cup.

I’m going to be transplanting the THCB and the DMCBD into 5gal pots in two days!

DAY 12: Transplanted THCB and DMCBD into 5 gal pots. I still need to work on my transplanting skills but it could have been worse.

I also turned on one 600 MH light and my ventilation system. They are both ran by an Autopilot Digital Master Timer. The light is currently 25in above the plants.

The Blue Dream Autos have not sprout so I dug the dirt up and they both failed. So I pulled them and Germinated 2 White Widow Xtrm Autos in a solo cup 6.4 ph water and two drops of super thrive. Also flushed a solo cup of solo with 6.70 ph water with 5 ml of root and grow.

On a side note the DMCBD leaf tips are pointing upward so I have to look into that.

Also the humidity has dropped because of the big light.

Day 15: The THCBs and DMCBD are doing great. After doing some adjusting I finally got the temp and humidty stabilized.

I checked both of the White Widow XTRM auto seeds and they were ready to be planted so one in the solo cup and one directly in a 3 gal pot.

Very happy so far. I cant wait to watch these babies grow

I forgot to mention the White Widow XTRM Autos are from Amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com

And also I'm running a 20 and 4 light schedule night time is 1pm-5pm

DAY 19: All plants are looking good. Yesterday One WWX sprouted and 1,2,3 got a bit of RO water 6.08 ph 150ppm added 2ml/gallon of cal mag.

Today was a hot day and I’ve been battling heat issues. I added two 16w fans (on top of the two 20w fans I already had) to help move air around. I also added a vent hose with a little inline fan. One end is mounted directly in front of the A/C.
Hopefully this alleviates the issue.

DAY 30: All is well. Plants 1&2 are definitely female. I have resolved the heat issues or at least stabilized them for now. Hopefully the outside temp drops soon.
I took soil moisture readings today 1,2,3 are normal so maybe tomorrow they’ll be ready for another feeding. I’m planning on feeding #4 tomorrow for the first time.

Hiya I am a newbie to growing and just as yes to ask why you are bending the plants? What does it do?

Hiya I am a newbie to growing and just as yes to ask why you are bending the plants? What does it do?

The bending is “LST” low stress training. It accomplishes the same as topping, supercropping, etc.

It slows the plant from growing upwards and forces it to become bushier in turn producing more bud sites. Honestly it can be a pain in the ass and only gets worse as the plant gets bigger. It is the best way to training while keeping stress low. Being that I’m growing auto flowers it’s really the only way I can training because the other methods mentioned earlier take to long for the plant to recover.

Also a lot of growers use LST if they don’t have a lot of height in their grow space and need to keep the plants short. I hope this helped and if you search around a little bit you can find more technical explanations for the reasons behind training.

Thank you I have a couple of tall tents so I'm glad I don't have to do it as I would be scared of breaking them I did my first topping today and that was nerve wracking

My first grow was a year ago I did 14 white widow
I LST’ed 6, topped 4, supercropped 2, and let the other 2 do their own thing.
I liked the colas I got from topping
but the colas that came up from the LST plants were pretty cool looking. I wish I still had pics from the end of that grow.

Also you would surprised at how bendable they are. The part that sucks is it can get time consuming and later on in the grow when their is a bunch of branches tied down it can get crammed down low. And unlike topping you have to keep adjusting them every couple days. Topping you do once and that’s it (unless) you double top.

Hey friend saw your thread asking for help. Thanks for keeping such detailed information and records.

What are you using to read moisture levels? I am not sure if I read correctly, but you watered two plants a gallon between them? And another between the other two? So each got half a gallon?

You said these were 3 gallon or 5 gallon pots?

Well, they look over-watered and not big enough for those pots yet in my opinion, but I don't know what you're using as a moisture meter. Be sure that you're putting the probe real far down to the bottom of the pot to take those readings. Cannabis doesn't like its feet to be kept wet for long, and even if it's dry half-way down the pot, if it's moist all the way down for very much longer than 5 days, the plant tends to suffer. The leaves begin to get droopy while still remaining full of turgor pressure ( as opposed to the wilting droop you'd see from underwatering ).

I'd also suggest bumping your pH up on the feeds. In soil you want to be more in the 6.5 pH range. I'm not sure where you read to go for 6, but that's more for soilless (Promix, Sunshine, etc. ) or coco than for soil. Ocean Forrest, you definitely want to be in the 6.5-6.8 range. I do see some common tell-tales that point to pH like the ridged looks on your leaves.

To check I would let them dry out nice and well, wait until they JUST start to wilt to water them again. When you do pH to 6.5 and use about half of what you've been giving them, so 1 quart ( .25 gal ) each or just until you see run-off. In my experience pots that size don't need half a gallon of water each feed, especially with plants that size in them, but just give enough water that you see it start to come out of the bottom. A lot of people say to water to 25% runoff to avoid salt buildup but it's easy to over-shoot that mark so for now just water until you JUST see runoff starting to come out so you can rule out over-watering.

Ocean Forrest is also pretty rich already so stay in that 200 ppm range you're feeding now. It's definitely NOT a deficiency, so don't be tempted to add more nutrients at this point.

Good luck with it, hope it helps. Post updates, I'm subbed.
