Solo Cup: 2 Different, Unknown Strains

Often when you flip to flowering they grow rapidly. At this stage yellow tops are common. Extreme yellow would be more of an issue. Will just have to keep watching.

Hmmm. The times I’ve seen yellow tops it is usually from rapid growth. Bright yellow can mean iron deficiency- but that would usually be at the top of the plant, I think. Iron def would normally be caused by ph being too high, I believe.
I’d just keep an eye on it. If it was all the upper growth it would be more worrisome. Not sure what medium you’re in or if it’s its one where you need to pay attention to PH (?)
Using just some ordinary miracle gro stuff from the store, nothing special.

Watering with and without nutrients at 6.5 to 7.5 until a tad bit of run off.

I agree with you. I've done a bit of research and it boils down to iron def or rapid growth.

Hey everyone! It has been a while since I've posted, but things have been going great with the plants. Found out today that the sativa looking plant I had ended up being a male, however that nice broad leaf baby I have is a female.

Just got through feeding her 100% bloom nutes for the first time.

Will post pics later!

Just came back from a week long vacation visiting some family and this is my first time smoking since.

I'm. So. High.

Wanted to keep the plant as short as possible, so I practice a little LST last night. Branches are held down with wire coated with plastic tubing so it doesn't cut the plant. She is about to be fed and placed under the light.

She really can drink! Usually only takes her three days to start drying up.

I usually go by the weight of the plant and container, I can feel a noticeable difference when it was dry vs when it is wet.

Gave her a good watering, ph'd at around 7-7.5, with no nutrients this time. She will be back on her maxibloom the next time I water!

Until then, here she is:

Just fed her really well with bloom nutes ph'd to 7.3.

Just tied down some of the under buds because they were outgrowing the two main chutes! Now encouraging the bottom growth.

Here are some of her buds.

I hope I get dense buds with her.

I'm going to continue to feed her like I've been, I don't see any negative side effects.

I usually feed and wait until cup is light [2-3 days], then feed again, then water.

Thanks for the help! @Weaselcracker

Great thing about keeping a journal is that you can see your plant's progress.

I like to constantly admire my plants, so seeing a photo from when she first started budding until now, I can see the difference.

Her fruit is becoming more dense!

I always feel like I am feeding her too much, but I'm not seeing any negative side effects.

This is my first time with a budding plant and using fertilizers. Should I continue with the feeding schedule I am on now? I do 2x feed then a water. Always ph around 7-7.3

I've been getting a 16.9 fl oz. Water bottle, filling it up, and adding a pinch or two of ferts like that. Shake well, and feed. She usually downs half the bottle before running off.

I know, I know, not the most scientific way of doing things. I should probably grab a gallon jug and measure from there. I believe the instructions say 1-2 table spoons per gallon, I'll have to check.

Edit: I just checked for the maxibloom and it calls for 1 - 2 tsp, or 5-10 grams per gallon. I have been using < 0.5 gram per bottle.

Best not to fix what isn’t broken. To me the feeding level looks close to maxed out, judging by the shiny dark green appearance.
6.5-6.7 is the usual ph range for soil I believe. Ph is always tested after nutrients are added to water. But any decent soil should be able to handle a variety of levels So I wouldn’t worry about that much. They look good.

Thanks for the reply!

What I'm going to end up doing is fixing up a gallon jug of nutes, ph it, and then slowly use that. I'll just ph everytime before I use it because I know it can fluctuate.

I'll start making it a bit more acidic and we shall see what happens!

Looks like I have 2 main colas, but after LST'ng I have a total of 8 fat ones now.

Not very many people pre-mix nutrients and then leave them on the shelf for very long. Usually not more than a week or two. I don’t know specifically of any problems from doing it- but just keep it in mind if you see any issues. Usually safest to make changes one at a time so you can gauge reactions with the plants. Again I don’t see any problems with your plans- just keep your eyes open.

I'm noticing a lot of yellowing on my lower leaves. I gave her a good feeding this morning of flower nutrients phd to 6.7

I did some research on the matter, and while it is common for lower leaves to turn yellow, I feel like this is happening too soon. I'm really hoping she is not root bound, as I obviously want fatter, denser nugs!
