Sour Diesel, Second Grow, First Time In Coco!

Day 58 of flower: I harvested a small lower branch to take a look at trichomes tonight. They're all still clear, and I have a couple of grams of frosty bud to dry and cure.

It's looking like the plants wont be ready by day 70 at this rate. I'm going to wait until then to cut any more samples. It smells delish! Can't wait to blaze one and sample the goods :smokin:

Really good trich shots! Nice photos.
The flowers are looking pretty good - like they’ll give a bit of uplift on your wings as it were.
I’m the same I’ll leave a few testers on the down low just to see how she go.
Good growing , flyguy.
Cheers  :peace:

The outdoor turned indoor project is humming along nicely, and the buds are starting to get a little frosty.

I cleared out a grocery bag worth of leaves and small branches that wouldn't have amounted to anything but larf... curious to find out what I'm going to yield.

Day 62 of flower inside, and the levels of frost on these girls are beyond anything I could have imagined. The buds look amazing!

I took another bud for sampling, and the trichs look mostly clear, with a few cloudy and even a couple of amber. It might just finish at 70 days after all.

Don't know if this pic does it justice, but holy crystals batman!

Yes - whateveritis you are doing works!
Mr Canuck method? This is your coco feeding regime yeah?
I’m using soil - I see you’ve left soil behind now. You aren’t likely to go back to it while you’re getting results like this too right? I like the soil. It gives my girls a buffer against my care and/or neglect. Makes them more difficult to kill

Yes. Mr Canuck grows in coco using organic dry amendments. I amend the coco at the start and then again using a fresh mix every time I up-pot. Also topdress every 25 days in flower. You treat the coco a lot like soil, but you water more often.

I used about 20 bucks worth of nutes this grow. Dealing with the gnats was my biggest headache.

I'm growing Sorbet Stash next - using the same method but in autopots to make things even lower maintenance.

Well the SS gets a nice write up on leafly.
Sounds good. This is the perpetual grow you mentioned at the end of your first thread? I’ll stick around for the palette cleansing sorbet in between main courses.
You got the beans in h2o yet? :laughtwo:
Cheers

I really enjoy headstash, so I thought I'd flavor it up a little with sorbet. Haha. I never wound up doing the perpetual. It's only legal for me to have up to 4 plants. I could have 2 in veg and 2 in flower, but I feel like growing 4 from start to finish is the better way to go for now.

I also want to do a super thorough cleaning of my grow spaces (aka nuke the gnats) before starting things up again, It will likely be a week or two from harvest before I germinate the sorbet stash.

Im no pro. But looks to me from pics your a ways out still . your girls are still pushing a lot of white hairs still. I would hate to see you loose a lot of weight from a early harvest . patient's is key at this point. I have made that mistake few times my self. Let her do her thing. Your flowers look good. :passitleft: :cough: :nerd-with-glasses:

Agreed. I have 2 separate grows going on. The indoor sour diesel is at my place, and the outside plants turned indoors are at my dad's place. The sour diesel is nearly done, and the ones at my dad's have at least 4 weeks to go.

This sour diesel continues to impress. The buds are caked in a frosty layer of trichs and smell delicious. I've definitely entered the harvest window and could chop them any time.

I'm going to get my chop and trim on and make a night of it on Thursday.

Looks like the trichs are now mostly cloudy, with a few amber and a few clear. I should be good to go for harvest on Thursday

I'm still dealing with gnats, and I'm noticing their little dead carcasses stuck to buds and sugar leaves when I'm inspecting.

I read the bud-washing thread, and it sounds like the answer to my problem. I'd be using lemon juice and baking soda in one bucket, and 2 more buckets of tap water. I don't have a mold problem, so I don't see the need for H202. Anyone have experience with bud washing? How bout removing dead gnats from buds? Thanks!

Well... looks like a successful harvest! I'd estimate that I have about 2 pounds! My last grow worked out to 3/4 of a pound dry. This looks like at least 3x what that was. I lost far less to bleaching and light burn than I'd previously estimated. The supercropping panned out nicely.

A couple of the top colas are at least a couple ounces each, I took some pics of them using an XL sports illustrated calendar for scale. They are massive! Far beyond my first grow for sure.

I spent 12 hours trimming and washing buds today. I'd estimate that I have at least another 12 hours of trimming to do.
I have approx. 3 ounces of some nicely trimmed nugs, and a shitload of rough trimmed weed. I basically pulled some fan leaves and tried to make them manageable. I'm a one man show and I ran out of time. They should dry over the course of the next few days while I'm at work... then it's back to trimming. I've heard that dry trimming is a big pain in the ass, but it is what it is.

I highly recommend Riserva Privada Sour Diesel. I also highly recommend Mr. Canucks method of coco growing, it was smooth sailing all the way through and this is the best weed I've ever grown. The buds are caked in trichs and smell amazing.

I'll check in again once I have things trimmed up and into cure jars. Cheers all!
