Sp4z, Spaz: GG #4 First Time Grower

Day 18 - I adjusted nutes to mid bloom for my GH line

Lowered Humidity in my area so it's about 53% at 79-81 degrees during the day and about 47% at 75-77 degrees during the night.

EC is 1.5 and pH is at 6.1 in the pots and 5.5 in the rez. I adjusted the netting a little bit to move it below some flower sites so they didn't grow into it.

While moving them.... holy crap.... my fingers got so sticky from the little bit of touching and smelly.... like woah....

My wife had a laugh because I ran up to her yelling "smell my fingers".

Thank you for taking a look!

Things are just chugging along, added another 10 gallons to the rez tonight so I think they may be drinking a little more right now.

Looking like those flowers are starting to stack nice.

ordered a cheap little $9 8x loupe, cant wait for that to come in so I can start taking some very pretty macro shots.

Looking splendous!

Make sure to keep your ventilation up.

I opened some additional vents on the tent.

New growth on the ones that were light is darker, I'm thinking I wasn't getting enough fresh air in? The greenest one was getting the first blast of fresh air from the main vent I had open.

Topped off the rez last night - everything is looking amazing still.

I raised the lights a few inches tonight - still sitting at about 40/45DLI between canopies. For these lights that's at 12".

80 @ 55 day
72 @ 50 night

1.4 EC
6.1 pH

I did not do ANY lollipopping for my first time.

I've seen some insane stretching on undergrowth into the light there to fill out the canopy, they don't feel larfy (as I understand the term) right now. Even at this early flower stage they feel like fairly dense little flowers.

New growth on the ones that were light green is very dark again - I think I didn't have enough fresh air (basement) flowing in. I wish I could get a CO2 meter, maybe next grow.

Everything is still moving along nicely, I'm waiting for a little loupe I ordered to come in so I can start checking things more closely for harvest time.

I'm thinking I may be harvesting them at different times, maybe a few days to a week apart, based on how they look at the moment.

Everything has remained almost the same with EC a little bit higher at 1.7, I think I may have done a nutrient in reverse when I topped off the rez tonight but I know these girls are hardy so I'm not going to drain my system over 6.25ml/gal vs 8.5ml/gal.

My temps are just insanely stable so far and are always at 79-80 during the day and then 70-71 at night.

I've been using a laser to read leaf temp too which is about 74 +/- 1 under these LEDs

Humidity is also staying at 50 +/- 2%

I'm curious if the others will take on some of the light purple color characteristics that the bottom left one has.

Thank you Chksbak!

I'm glad you enjoyed it - I can't wait to do my next run and tweak things a little bit.

I know I'm far from the finish line still, I've been doing a lot of reading on harvesting/curing now and trying to get ready for that process.

I'm just so upset with myself that I didn't start doing this years ago...... oh well, it's never to late to start!!

Things look beautiful!

I changed the rez and gave it a little clean since I noticed it was getting a little funky - no chemicals to clean just fresh tap water rinse and good 'ol elbow grease to scrub shit down and dump it out (did it twice).

Still on midbloom nutes for my line

EC is 1.6
pH is at 6.2 in the pots and 5.6 in the rez after the change
Humidity is still 50 +/- 2
and day temp is 80-82 with night being 71-73.

I picked up a little 2x4 tent for drying/curing
Ordered a new 6" fan/filter for the 4x4 and will be moving the 4" setup to the 2x4.

Oh how I want to take a little cut to test but I know I need a few more weeks before even that!

To me, the plants on the left are looking hungry. :morenutes:

I've had that thought in the back of my head too....

I'm not sure how to increase feed for them only, another drawback of the autopot is that each pot is a micro site with no central line back. They fill, drain, repeat. If I increase my EC I'm worried I'll burn the others.

New growth on them is dark green like the one on the front right, it's hard to tell with my phone camera but all of the fresh growth in lower canopy and all the buds that had stretched to fill out just at the bottom of trellis are dark green too.

I've tried to look up what symptoms of CO2 deficiency are but I have not found pictures or explanations of that yet. I did have those vents closed and only the one on the right open for the majority of their lives.

I opened those vents up a lot after you had mentioned to make sure I keep fresh air circulating (maybe a week/two ago?) - and that's when I started seeing fresh green on them again. I'm wondering if I was starving them of CO2 a little?

I‘m seeing an overall lighter shade of green. The plant is going to redirect nutrients where they are needed most - the tips/flowers - so they will stay green the longest. If you continue to see leaves get paler (then brown, shrivel and possibly fall off), then you will probably want to take some kind of action.

I'll be paying close attention, maybe I'll increase the EC just a tad next top off of the rez.

your feed line might be partially plugged. it does look hungry. borderline deficiency. looks awesome though.

Each site has water in it, the float valves seem to be functioning properly. I'll adjust EC a little and see how they react over the next few days.

Thank you for the kind words!

I'm almost wondering if a seed got mixed up because I'm not seeing the light purple on the other three and the leaves are a little bit thinner.

We'll enjoy it regardless!!

Installed a 6" fan/carbon filter last night. Moved the 4" onto the 2x4 I set up for my drying area.

Still at 80 +/-1 during day and 74 +/-1 at night with humidity staying at 50 +/- 2%

Tonight I raised EC to 1.7 by adding ~15ml of some GH Grow into the 15gallon rez and topped it off.

pH was at 6.2 at the bottom of the pots and I lowered res pH to 5.5

Adjusted a couple of of the stretchy branches underneath to allow more airflow - it's looking like a jungle in there.

I accidentally broke a little branch that had maybe a 1" flower site on top, I'll be doing a quick dry and testing that out in the next few days

Looks very good lots of nice bud sites, I have jus switched mine to flower 2 days ago so far I'm loving using autopots, anyone got any experience with the autopot propagator? I plan on getting that to use for clones/seedlings. First autopot run i also have of the pots in bigger tent waiting to start. Spaz do u run a cleaner in ur Rez? I use ATA clean. Also do u use a water pump? I have jus put in a tiny one tho I don't think it needs it jus wanted to make sure everything was mixed.

Hi Frogglet!

Nice looking plants you have!

I have not used the propagate equipment from AutoPot, it looks interesting and could be useful.

I have not used a cleaner and I'm very curious how my roots will look when everything is said and done - I'm wondering if some of my color differences are due to root health. I was debating setting up a little pump to keep the rez circulating but I have not done it yet because I'm already planning on going full hydro with a RDWC (unsure if doing undercurrent or waterfall) setup for my next run.

I've seen some bacterial growth in the rez but nothing that made me freak out, I've been keeping it relatively full and only let it drain low for a nutrient change so I can dump it out completely. I do clean the little sponge filter each time I change the rez because I know that colonies will love to grow on that.

I do stir it thoroughly every morning and night when I check my pH though - the water in my area is fairly high alkalinity and starts at around 7.8 and I try to keep the rez at or around 5.5 because the pots tend to run .3-.5 higher as they fill then slowly drain.

Thank you for the kind words and for taking a look!

The cleaner is more for salt buildup in the pipes I think I have the one autopot recommend jus a bit of security. Do u run airdomes? I have them and I feel they hav helped alot I had air pump set low for weeks and forgot bout it then I set to max and 2 days later the grow was noticeably faster for sure. My pic before was on low. (1meter² tent)I have never pH or checked my ec....too lazy.
Also spaz do u remember wat day your first pistils appeared? I'm running bud ignitor for first time and pistils appear on my 5th day of flower. Only have 2 previous soil grows in normal pots to compare with.
Thanks and great grow for Ur first amazing achievement.

I am not running airdomes on mine . I have about 2 inches of hydroton clay pebbles at the bottom and the rest is coco/perlite.

I flipped on August 30th and had pistils first show on September 5th so about 6-7 days.

My girls are getting thick right now, they'll be waking up in about 2.5 hours so I'll be posting pics later tonight.

I'm thinking about trying to reveg these after I harvest because I didn't lollipop at all, should have plenty of nice low green stuff left over that will start new growth sites.
