My old ladys going to trip when she gets home. And my buddy that came over a couple weeks ago he would say I'm killin it. He's the grower that puts aluminum foil in his rooms. and walls of mylar and can't figure out why all his plants are going hermi
Told me i needed to rip down my B/w and put up mylar. he'll be lucky if i let him my grow room agian

So I managed to finally borrow a step ladder to mount my light to the furthest point. and I set up another mount for the coming new hood and ballast.

The bucket job I did yesterday

While I was up on the ladder I snapped a couple shots

I could be wrong but I believe the point of the "twist and bend" isn't that it makes the plant stronger than just bending it over, but that it makes it much easier to bend rather than break.

I've never seen a plant actually straighten back up after it was bent, I don't believe that is really possible if it's bent all the way over. The internal damage is just too great for the plant to recover from unless (possibly) the weight of the top that's bent over is very, very light and the internal fluid pressure can overcome it.

But if your plant's stem has a lot of turgidity (fluid pressure) inside it can be very easy to snap it off rather than bend it. The two schools of thought I know of on that is to pinch and bend or twist and bend. By doing either of those you lightly damage the internal structure and make it easy to bend the stem without breaking it.

Check out LST or SCROG... I like that method better overall as I think it does less trauma to the plant and allows more uninterrupted growth overall. Just my 2c.

This grow is going awesomely. If I were Advanced Nutrients I'd be using this as an example of my products.

Well I could use some more B-52 and VooDoo Juice, AN Reps.

Ok so today I received my newly used Sun System Yield Master II 6" Classic Grow Hood and 1000w HPS Hortilux Bulb got it all hung up waiting on the ballast

Here is some pictures of the clones that got beat up the other day
I taped and made a sling for this poor sole
DSCF00657.JPG

this one maybe i should have been a little rougher with it has mostly stood up but has a nice tare in the shaft
DSCF00663.JPG

this one should have been ruffed up more also
I will include the pinch/twist/bend next time .

Ok so this morning I was contemplating bending the tops in the flowering room this would allow about a full foot drop in the reflector and increase the yield lower on the plant. Well I did and I'm saying prayers as these are the tops the prime bud. I taped all bends and hope they recover as well as my plants in the veg room did

Bass this better work :cheer: or I'll have samples of my main cola's

I received my xtrasun 1000w ballast today. I managed to get everything switched around and I have the 1000w Hortilux Bulb set up in my Mavrick sun reflector as its a much better quality than the yield master 2. All I can say is wow the penetration that the 1000w gets is amazing compared to the 600w.
I have the 600w over 2 plants that were about 15" now. It's so bright in there now need sunglasses for sure. I think I'm blinded.

I will post pics in a little bit with a little bud porn and the new set up running.

I think I want to flip the run time in the bloom room I run 10:30-am to 10:30pm right now.
I think with the additional heat I think I would be better running 9pm to 9am spreading the heat out between the 2 rooms and running the bloom room in the cooler night night time.
So whats the best way to flip?

I love the plucking.

Now for the tall branches I would pinch, twist 180 degrees between fingers and bend 90 degrees at the twist to set height with more of the canopy. This will also allow you to lower the light and reduce stretch a little.

For a 200 page read on defoliation I suggest you google: Defoliation: Hi-Yield technique?

good read.

Yah buddy,
Skipped ahead from 1st page to get a post in. I will go back though as I am loving your set up. I agree with Bass you basically pinch the stem, squeezing it and working it between your forefingers at the point you want the bend at until it is weak enough to fall over. It looks like sh*t when you 1st do it but it will recover eventually and it allows for a more even canopy and a lower light. I call it supercroping not sure if my method is the correct definition but it works. I bet someone in the forums has a thread started on it. That or my favorite problem solver the Google will have something on super cropping.

5 star and reps man love the journal, and the security lock.

Just turn them off for 22 hours. There might be a slight risk of herme but I think you'll be fine. I've had lights fail in the middle of flower and didn't realize it for 48 hours. One time light schedule shouldn't be a problem, id go for it.

hmmm.. wonder if using the opposite of gas lantern routine, turning lights off for 1 hr every 5.5 hrs would be the way to do it. I'm thinking it would and wouldnt add stress. But not sure. Kinda just thinking out loud.

I think tomorrow I will run from 9am to 3pm then off for 6hrs, then back on at 9pm and off at 9am and then start the cycle every night at 9p from then on out.

My practice has always been, off for 24 then on schedule..

some pics

the newly used 1000w and the 600 running together. Good thing I got that cool air blower set up and ready to run it didn't take long to warm up in there.

So I have some new additions to the family
meet grapefruit and hopefully her sister. Yes I planted the seeds in the root riot cubes its all I had just split them and set the sprout in about a 1/3 of the way root facing down. Worked quit nice I may just be done with the rock wool cubes from here on out.
DSCF000824.JPG

and the others, the one on the left is a flowering clone that I managed to get to root. Stay tuned

The next set of twins getting ready to go to flower. I figure in about 2 weeks they will be ready to move. The messed up leaves around the tops is from a FIM job, that I think I really FIm'ed them and didn't do nothing but mess up some leaves. To top or not. maybe I'll just let them be.
