SpaceGhosts 1st Grow Hydro Advanced Nutrients

I've used the pH Perfect line. Here's my experience, take it for what it's worth.

To get the "guaranteed" effect you're supposed to use the pH Perfect base nutes (Sensi 2-part, the GMB 3-part, or the Connoisseur 2-part) and then the Hobbyist bundle along with that which consists of Big Bud, Voodoo Juice, Overdrive, and B-52. That's the bare minimum for the guarantee, but of course the real pH balancing comes from the base nutrients so most everyone will see that work fine with nothing more than the base nutes. My understanding is that the Bundle is included for the guarantee because it has just enough extra stabilization capacity that certain water chemistry might not work perfectly with the base nutrients alone. What I remember of high school chemistry says that makes sense, but I'm no PhD so I can't say for sure.

Regardless of whether the reason is true or, as the nay-sayers would undoubtedly suggest, an attempt to make you buy more stuff it is worth it in my opinion. There's a real difference to be had from adding those four additives and - again, just my opinion - it more than makes up for the increase in what you're paying.

As far as the Expert and above bundles are concerned, I like them. I've done the Expert level (they build on each other, so Expert means you're getting base nutes, Hobbyist, and Expert bundles) and I am VERY pleased with the results. I'm currently running it at Professional level but it's too early to say how it is going. It looks like another significant step upward but it's still early. I haven't come across anything by AN so far I'd call a rip-off so I'm pretty confident this will be worth it.

So it's up to you I say. If you're interested definitely do the Hobbyist level, that's absolutely 100% worth it. Above that it's personal preference I say. If you're happy with the cost/reward ratio at the Hobbyist level and want to move up, go for it.

Dude that's great your 1 of the 1st that I have came across running the PH Perfect line. Tell me more. What kind of water you using? Will it work with city water? Will it hold it for 3-4 days so I could leave on a weekend and not have to worry ph running crazy?

I have to say although since Ive been using sulfuric acid for ph down a phing my water after 24hrs of bubbling, my ph is pretty rock solid lately.

While I can't comment from personnel experience on the ph perfect line, I can share what they told me when I spoke to them. I mentioned my hard ass water that runs from 550ppm to 650ppm (1 e.c.+). They agreed I should stick with the RO water I purchase from the store if using the ph perfect line.

That being said, I am still using the BPN two part and using BPN Bloom Booster. The AN expert line would cost me over $500 for a single grow iirc which is just too much I think.

Ya I knows H2o2 and Voodoo juice 2 different different worlds. When using the root enhancers, and correct me if I'm wrong, You're not supposed to use H2o2 as it basically kills the bacteria or what ever it is and then ya just throwing ya money out the window.
H2o2 allows more o2 to be absorbed threw the water or allows the water to carry more o2, again correct me if I'm wrong.
So I'm stopping running Voodoo juice cause it's just to dam expensive. H2o2=.79c

I'll step on this grenade.........

After with speaking to the makers of H202 and both Hygrozyme and Orca (both benifical bacterias) They all have said their product will work just fine with H202 if used in a certain way. You cannot just put in the H202 and then either the hygrozyme or Orca in right after it. You have to wait awhile while the H202 does it thing. I currently run all 3 of these products and I'm here to tell ya that it does all work together. I have benificial bacteria all over the place including stuck to my roots.
I wait 24 hrs after adding the H202 to add my beneficials.
Granted, these products are not cheap but after seeing the results I will pay the extra money to get the results I do. My second grow tent has pure WHITE roots and are as big as shit.

The other thing you have to understand about beneficial bacteria is it LOVES air, the more air you can add to your water the better. And, as I have found out root rot hates air.

Tonight is day 50 on the large SLH. I don't think she is going to make it much longer. Starting to find nanners in some of the buds. I can see a couple seeds here and there in a couple of the smaller lower nugs. I'll probably flush and pull her this weekend so not to infect any of my new girls with that nanner shit

Had the same issue. Had to pull 4 plants.
Always sucks when that happens but we got some good hash out of the deal.

tonight's not a good night. found after the veg room turned on for its hr @ 3am that a return hose poped outa the Tank and 10-15 gal went on the floor, not realy sure where all the water went, but musta went towards the basement shower/bathroom.
Next I find my ppm meter going wacky. Looks like it decided to start leaking from the bottom where the metal electrode protrudes. not sure where PPMs are now. thought I was doing it right and my meters fuked up. I think my mix is on the weak side, I hope.
I have my ppm meter apart and the battery out, drying out.

Feels like a bad day at work

So every1 knows, this is what you should do with any electronic equipment when it gets wet. power off and let dry. I've seen whole computers come back to life after a water leak. I over clock my pc's and have had water cooling in the past along with sub zero cooling down to -70c.
Right now I have a 4.5ghz intel I7-920 w/6gig of ram on air cooling. I am a gamer and you can find me playing Team Fortress 2 I mostly play 2 Fort on a sever from Chicago Brothers of chaos, I think it is. My Steam ID in is cowpuppy and my alias is of course SpaceGhost C2C. Hit me up on steam be ready and bring your A game I play as a demo man and as last I checked I think I was ranked 26,000ish out of 100,000,000 (hundreds of millions of peoples) :peace:

Really sorry to hear about the nanners and the hose, and the meter. What a day.

Do you have some calibration solution and know how to calibrate the meter? Hopefully it all goes together well.

Helluva overclock on the 920. I have a 930 chip, I built mine, 1st timer. OC'd to only 3.7 with one of those bolt on corsair water coolers. I'm afraid to OC to 4+ ghz since I just don't know all the adjustments and understand them well. But I'm happy with it. If I ever get an extra $1600-$2k in my hands again I'll probably go Sandy Bridge and o.c. to 4.4ghz or something then. But I don't really need it anymore.

Ya I have some calibration solution, that's when I realized something is seriously wrong.

This is not the weekend for my meter to take a crap on me. It's the weekend to get my Harley running. I don't have $$$ for both and the biggest blessing of the bikes is in Balwin, MI next weekend. You freekin plants, don't make me choice between my Harley and you little spoiled bitches.
Every1 say a prayer my meter dry's out and works again tonight as I will be totally lost without it.

PM me HD issues if you want. I worked in the business, raced, built, made go fast, etc, etc in another life. I may be able to guide you on inexpensive or free fixes.

I will keep this in mind.
It's a job that I have already done once but because of the poor workmanship of the last machinist I had to have another set of cylinders bored to 103" and while I had the heads off that the same guy worked on I had the torn down and inspected and found the exhaust seats needed to be re-cut. The seats were that way because the rocker boxes didn't get relived enough so the spring retainer barley touched (i missed on assem.) luckily It was barley touching and I didn't drop a valve.
What else did the guy not do. He was supposed to relive my rocker arms, underneath to clear the spring retainers, I had to do this. Oh here a good one he never took on piston out of the packaging so the cylinders were never matched to the pistons, and get this when it got hot at a light, it felt like the pistons swelled up and would stop the motor all of a sudden. get it running and to the next light and all would be ok till she got hot again. He was and is a well known Harley racer a lot off peoples go to him. this time I took my stuff to a guy that builds turbo jap bikes and does some exotic Harley stuff. I Don't trust the other guy no more and he will no longer get my biz or reps if someone asks

Sorry about my terrible photos. I will try to post better pics in the future.

Dude, I'm not saying your pictures suck - far from it.
I'm just saying they don't do your plants justice if they're shifted way yellow like the HPS light does.

We're talking about the difference between very good pictures and awesome pictures.

Us old hands around the garden recognize what those plants really look like, we can sort of filter the color shift in our heads. But to newbs it just looks like a yellow plant. And even for the vets it's hard to overstate how much more awesome a picture that compensates for the lights can look.

There's two options. First, you can use a "Wratten 80 Blue filter". Stick that right in front of the camera lens when you're taking pictures and it should make them look right with the lights on. The other option, if your camera is advanced enough, is to do a manual white balance. That will compensate for the yellow shift completely within the camera's software.

I will try to get one of these filters soon.

About my ppm meter I would like to give a shout out to Holland Hydroponics and their kind staff that replaced my ppm meter after verifying that it leaked from the bottom.

I have heard that you can get the same effect by cutting the correct colored gel to fit your lens but I haven't done it myself so I don't know how well it works or what color the "correct" color is. But it is allegedly a cheaper way to do it.

Cool, it's always good to hear about companies that stand behind their products with replacement or money back guarantees. I'll definitely give Holland Hydroponics a look next time I'm shopping. I like to "vote with my wallet" as they say.

I haven't updated in some time. All but one of the clones to the Northern Lights have come and gone up in smoke. I will report on the last clone I have going and then will close this thread. I won't be posting weights but will take some nice pics of some of the best nugs.

I will be switching over to Blue Planet Nutrients here in the next Month or less and will start a journal on the take over of the AN. I have a few different strains going now including in the Flowering Room. Fuking Incredible, Pineapple Express, Blue Berry Princess, Grapefruit. In the Veg Room I have most of the same along with Red Chunk, and some more seedlings of Northern Lights.

A little about my last NL cone #5. Shes a beauty about 6'6" tall and 5+' wide she's a selfish bitch and prefers the whole 1000w to her self, her roots fill the whole 5gal bucket and are white as a ghost
Her is a couple pics at day 28 (yes day 28 can you believe the size of that cola I measured 14+" the other day and she turns 40 tonight) I will take some new pics tonight. Porn after 9pm eastern time

:peace:

I've ordered some Blue Planet Nutrients 3 part with the bloom booster. I will be doing a journal once my AN runs out for my flowering room. I'm not sure how much I have left of the AN but it can't be more than 2-3 weeks and I will be changing my tank weekly to help get rid of the AN
I am looking fwd to partnering up with Blue Planet Nutrients and starting a new journal.
:peace:

Tonight is day 47 in flowering. Plant is just starting to build a good tryclones all over, buds are still filling out. I can't imagine that she will go past 56 days,
