Sponsored Grow: Krip Keepers Frost Fest Featuring Mars SP-250 In Mars 4' x 4' Tent

Hi Gazoo, we are using mostly white chips, some warm white some cold white, plus some red and blue, IR; Plants grow rapidly when blue tops at around 440nm, while flowering rapidly when red tops around 650~660nm; We are trying to make the perfect spectrum for ya. :Rasta: White light are a mixture of every color, and some of the color spectrum plants don't need too much, so we don't need to add specific spectrum chips. As for uv, usually plants needs uvb which is below 300, and around 380 that is uva, which is not useful for plants' growing. But led cannot make uvb light, it will be very easy to burn, and the technology for led chip is still not mature. Therefore we don't add.

COLOR PARAMETERS: Chart above

I interpret the following as the RATIO of light HITTING the Plant Canopy

Am I reading this correctly as
R = 18.5 % (RED)
G= 79.0 % (GREEN)
B = 2.4 % (BLUE )

Thanks again

Hi Gazoo, your understanding is right, if for blurple lights, the ratio of red and blue will be bigger, and green will be very small, but the total output of the lumen and ppf will be also a lot smaller; As now we use mostly white lights, there are green and yellow in side, it cannot avoid. But at the same time, the total red and blue will increase and the total lumen and par will also increase. :)

not having all the fans running when the flower tent is just a few feet from my bed! :D
:thumb: That a big plus! My indoor grow situation is the same, I dont know how you slope witht he regular little circulation fans going! (although I can’t source that brand here, and not for lack of trying!).

Thanks for your “bud porn of a lifetime” post! Stunning man, and that Dolato is quite ridiculous in it’s frostiness and apparent density :D :yummy: Really makes me want to grow one. It’s a gorgeous plant while growing too. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some special ones in bobrown’s journal a while back as well. It’s edging it’s way on to my list, that’s for sure.

This is shaping up to be a ripper journal. I’m looking at the SP150 as a possible future veg light. They look really great and I’m not sure I could build an equivalent for less dollars at this stage. Thanks again for showcasing the stuff so well!

Hey @Mr. Krip

Did you take more clones from these 4 already or will this be the last time we see these strains in your tent?
I have clones of everything excepts the Platinum Kush Breath and I'll take a couple of those before flipping. TBH, I thought I had a clone but I must have put the only one in the breeding cabinet and just realized a couple days ago it was my last.

I'm sure you'll see most, if not all, of these strains again at some point. It may be a while, though, with some of the other stuff I want to test run.

Cool fella!!

Sounds groovy and I’m excited for these lovely ladies to push it out !!

QUICK UPDATE - VEGGING AWAY

There's not much new to report. All the girls are doing great and happy under the SP-250's. I'm planning on up-potting to the final containers this weekend which will all be #10's except the Platinum Kush Breath which will be in the center in a SIP that's about a #5, or so, since a 5th #10 won't fit (easily!) in a 4' x 4'. :laugh:

Both the Blackwater and the Platinum Cake tend to stretch more than the other strains, so I've put them on the left side where I'll have about an extra foot of headroom due to the filter/fan being on the right and extending into the center.

Here are a couple of group shots:

GETTING READY TO UP-POT

The girls are still vegging away with not much new to report. They're finally starting to hook up with the 3rd run high brix soil and are looking pretty good. Due to all the time they spent as bonsais, these plants will have the thickest stalks of any plants I've put into flower, so far, so I'm hoping to see some nice, fat colas! :laugh:

They all got a growth drench last night so, by Saturday night or Sunday morning, when the containers are dry again, I'll transplant them to their final containers.

I didn't get any good pics of the individual stalks this round, but I'll try to remember to post some on the next update.

Here's some quick pictures from this morning:

Looks like they're ready for some fresh soil and a trim. So bushy! Very nice!

:passitleft:

Thanks, Brother! :thanks:

Yeah, since these are/were all the moms, they've all had multiple toppings - if not to take clones, then just to maintain them as bonsais. The oldest, which are the Blackwater and two Dolatos, are incredibly bushy! All three of those plants were started in Rapid Rooters and I haven't used Rapid Rooters in something like six months! :laugh:

The stalks on those plants are already thumb thickness and they're still in #1's so we should have a good jungle going in there soon! :morenutes:

They're looking great brother Krip. What size pot are you going to next and will it be their final uppotting?
Got an idea of how much longer you'll be vegging these for? And i'm wondering if you'll be allowing them to grow out naturally, or will you open them up a bit?
I'm damn excited to see these moms in bloom! :slide:

I will be up-potting to the final homes which will be the four plants in the corners in #10's and the one in the center in a SIP that's about a #5 equivalent. They'll probably veg about another 2-3 weeks once transplanted, really depending on how quick that Blackwater grows since she's the most "stretchy" so I'll need to flip to keep here in control.

So far, the only plant that has gotten LST is the Platinum Cake, becauseI really want to maximize the harvest on that one. But, all the rest have been getting supercropped. Once I up-pot, I'm hoping to do minimal LST just to fill up the horizontal space and keep the canopy even.

I'm not going to use the trellis netting this round, though, or, at least, that's my current plan! :D
