Squiggle Is Testing The Sylstar GL4000a: Multi Strain Grow, In A Brand New Set Up!

The light is probably too serious for me mate. I think if I dont respect the power it has, it could do some damage.

That is something I will mention to Lynn @Sylstar .
Does the packaging have to say grow light or can it just say led light fixture? like you said.
Really good point mate:thumb:
It's great that you receive the grow light so fast. Yes, it will be better to say grow light. Hope you will enjoy the light and post a good review. :high-five:

Beast of a light cant wait to see what it can do and if it deals with heat my XS4000 the drivers after 12 hours 46c
and heatsink 40/44 depending were i put my lazer probe in these hot days in the uk.
Ah!!! Laser probe.. I need one of those.. 46c isn't that bad. Hopefully heat does not cause an issue here. I had a small desk fan blowing on the driver of my last light. It keeps it in check.. but your right. These summer days are a killer.. it won't last mate. Autumn will be here next week

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, extremely fast delivery.
I'm enjoying the light already and i havent even grown anything.

The only issue was with the label on the packaging. It says "grow light."
With it being illegal to grow cannabis in the UK; we need to be discreet about our whole set up. With it saying "Grow light"; the delivery drivers may automatically assume we are growing weed. I know they are for growing all kinds of plants , but, us UK growers can not afford any unwanted attention.
Would it be possible to change your sticker's on UK boxes to "led light fixture", instead of "led grow light"?
The site where it was purchased should have put it in an unmarked box. But they didn't.. Theres no harm done, so don't worry. It was more the fault of the site where it was purchased.
Thanks again.

Defo better than what I had mate my p300s were around the 50c this time of year and blowing it all out in my grow space much easier to control a passive light. As you already know. :) PS. nice to see the rep pop by and give feedback so fast.

It's amazing how much the technology has changed in only a short space of time. As you say, the inbuilt fans used to blow out hot air.

I don't know how the UK Loft/attic growers cope. @Bud Love grows in the loft, It must be a mission to keep the temps right. It's either freezing or scorching in a loft, there's no in-between.
Yeah! Nice of the rep to pop in. They seem really efficient at answering questions. They get back to you straight away, which is perfect service

Great stuff , thank you. It's a common thing accross all light manufacturers and tent manufacturers. They all state "grow" on their packaging.
It would be a shame to get arrested over one word on a sticker

Hey mate
Hope your well
Id just spent £3000 on new light set up coz I got spooked by the noise the fans on my old light were making. We got new neighbours . An ye never know, could’ve been constable( fortunately not and they’re pretty cool)
However, imagine my delight and surprise, when my lovely light turned up with said stickers on display.:)
Gotta be honest... I had to take a moment:)
Real nice light though.

I'm very well thank you, yourself?
Hopefully you had a partially sighted delivery driver.

But I know what you mean, you panic for a while.
I bet there are more grow tents in the UK growing peppers and chilli's than our beloved flower. I think we are just paranoid, but it makes us careful.

Thanks for popping in mate. I will have the kettle on next time

Peace an buds mate:)

Ha:) I was thinking of putting a hole above the fitted wardrobe... haven’t had the balls yet:)

Howdy do folks

Well, it's all hung up and I didn't drop it once. It's actually not that heavy for the size of it. The dimmer and switch have a quality feel to them also. The rope hangers are sturdy and heavy duty. Really happy so far :)

I've had it switched on and "jebus krypes" its bright. it would hurt Stevie wonders eyes ,it's that intense.

Ive had it plugged into the Watt "O" Meter to see what it draws at full power.
The label says 450watt
20210607_214648.jpg

It's actually drawing around 490.
On my other light, it's the opposite. It states 98 and only draws 90 watts..

Anyway. Look at the temperature rise after just over half an hour. It got as high as 31, but I forgot to take a photo as I was as baked as a potato..:cheesygrinsmiley:

This was with my extraction on full whack as well. So it looks like Im going to have to upgrade the extraction, just to draw the hot air out.

The missus is going to go bonkers. As I said, I dont need to buy anything else.. oooooopss!!
She doesn't know I've ordered bigger fans, a lux meter and a laser temp gun.. oh and I've hired a par meter. Should be getting that at the weekend.

She's Gona go ballistic..
oh well, it's done now...

Is there any extraction yous guys can recommend?
Or is there anything else I need to purchase?

I will be selecting my seeds tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate all the feedback and support

Take care

As said best by Leonard:

"Alright, well let me see if I can explain your situation using physics. What would you be if you were attached to another object by an incline plane wrapped helically around an axis?"
