Sticky's Almost Perpetual Grow

I didn't know they had something for insects and I wondered about them getting bugs I herd they were insect resistant and I guess they are more resistant but not immune. I think the higher the Brix the more resistant they are but still not bug proof.

High brix is indicative of being very healthy, but merely growing in the DBHBB soil does not mean the plants are then healthy. Many people grow in that soil and do not 'get it right' and the plants get all of the usual issues which leads to lack of health and the bugs come. The bug spray is a way of getting them off while giving your plants more time to jive with the soil and microbes, but like I said, your plants have to be supremely healthy to not be attractive to the insects. So like everyone, I plan/hope all of my plants are at tip top shape, but I must prepare for the event that I fail to live up to that goal.

@ilikemsticky I just looked on amazon and the green cleaner is $95 a quart. Is it a concentrate that needs to be mixed with water? I'm hoping I can inch my way into the collection of bug sprays with small QTYs at a time.

I no its pricey stuff I have a small bottle it calls for 8 oz per gallon but im spraying two plants with it so I only need a quart so I only use 2 oz at a time this price is likely going to go up supply in demand!

well I got the cc and y/g out to be sprayed last night they got green cleaner ive heard a lot about it from @Norcaliwood so I soaked them waited about 15 min. and sprayed them off with plain water ant the leaves are looking nice and shiny happy this morning some of the pistils didn't like it but that's the price you pay for negligence but im gunna fix it I scoped on the others couldn't find anything I will say these whiteflies aren't that easy to get rid of all it takes is one of them to start the chain reaction in a couple days its going to be the captain jack again I think that might do it especially with me scoping and smashing did not see anything this morning yay !
Hi Sticky. I looked online and the Captain Jack does not ship to SA. I am sure I spotted somewhere that it is a bacillus. Is that correct? If so, could you tell me which one please?

not sure the label for active ingredients says a mixture of spinosad A spinosad D .05 % I might have some literature on it ill see if I can find it if I do ill get back tp ya but don't hold your breath I put things in places that I cant find! :laughtwo:
Thank you and also @dr.h00k. I have checked but they don't ship outside of the US. I wonder if it is to do with a live organism in the mixture. Maybe it is too dangerous or cost prohibitive to export. I don't know the law. I will check to see if there is someone local who has a similar formulation. I did some work a few years ago for a company who were developing biological control mechanisms for agriculture. I must try to find them. They may have moved into an international market. I'm sure they have. There are things around here for our agricultural sector but they don't accommodate the small gardener yet.

@Lerugged is in SA...maybe he knows of a product that may be more readily available to you...cheerz... :high-five: ...h00k...:hookah:...
We're neighbours. I will see him soon to ask but I have been looking around, so I think I sort of know what is available. I will be pleased if he has some info.

hey carmen I couldn't find anything doesn't surprise me but I thought of something I plant marigolds all around my vegetable garden to attract whiteflies I no it sounds crazy but they are going to be there so anyway the whiteflies love those and the marigolds don't care they just keep growing so they'll take up house on the marigolds and for the most part leave your garden alone they'll still get on there and munch but they go back to there home and it brightens up the area just a thought!

I have a start of marigold. I have planted sunflowers and nasturtiums. I have a bulk order of heirloom seed coming soon! I am very excited to plant a multi-purpose productive garden. My project going forward ♥

I am also pleased to report that I have found a local supplier of spinosad! Happy as. Thanks for all your help. It fast tracks an otherwise tedious process.
