Stunned But Not Dumbfounded: A Blue Dream

Howdy 420 people, I hope all is well with you.

I like the idea of a journal and was a bit disappointed when I found this site in the midst of my first grow.
Thinking to myself... well I could post what I'm doing midway through my endevour
Reconciling this proved to be too much. I'm an all or nothing type personality I guess
That being said, I can tell you that I was thrilled with my first grow.
Girl Scout Cookies under Samsung 561C S6 diodes, General Hydroponics Flora regimen and coco
I think I may have just been lucky.

I recently received seeds from the Humboldt organization and I'm quite excited to see what I can produce with this
I am a big fan of Grateful Grower and have watched many of his YouTube videos.
I hope his big move went well and This Blue Dream Grow was in part inspired by him

I will also be growing a free sample that I got from the vendor called Mama Mia
No ideas about what this will be like, but I suspect the BD will outpace it
Will be growing in coco again with the same lights and nutes
More detail as they are introduced into the grow
For now... into the "dunk" they go
I didn't scarify this time, I hope this doesn't fubar it

Well I have stunned plants, I guess I will watch a stunned grow..... :high-five:

Alright, it's been roughly 24 hours and it's time to start incubation
I had good results last time using this method and I'm hoping for the same this time
Paper towel, wet but not dripping wet
folded over once with the seed in the middle
I added some Mykos and then folded the paper towel over the top sealing
I really recommend Mykos for beneficial microbes. It really helps develop root growth
Too bad I didn't have any Azos or I would have added that too
The little container in the pictures has the Mykos in it
I will add more when I transplant into solo cups and then again when I transplant into the 5 gallon pots

With any luck, I'll have two sprouts tomorrow when I check on them.
Last grow, they sprouted in 24 hours.
A good place to let them do thier thing, I'v found is in the cupboard right above the refrigerator.
The fridge gives off heat which transfers to the cupboard and it's dark in there... perfect for germination

Tomorrows update will be on coco preparation
I'll be priming 3 to 4 new bricks for this grow
I'll go over what I do for sterilization and rinsing to get that coco to its perfect PH
Have a great weekend everybody :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Here's another update on the blue dream grow
The beans have been soaking in the paper towel since yesterday afternoon
Today, when I checked on them they both had sprouted, so it was time to get them into solo cups
I grow in coco. I had great success with it last time, so no point trying to re invent the wheel
This is what I use for my coco

I was pleased with it last grow. Botanicare make good product. It doesn't have to be rinsed too much.
The bricks made by Canna are also quite good
I know the product is supposed to be free of nastys bugs, eggs and whatnot
But with the sheer volume that these guys are now producing, QC declines
so I bake them at about 250F for about 4 hours. That'll kill anything that might be in there

I was lucky enough to have some coco left over from my last grow
Enough for 2 solo cups anyway
I filled the cups and rinsed it with tap water for about 10 minutes
You really want to clean that coco
Then I poured RO PH'ed water through it and deposited the seeds

I have the QB 260 running at about 60% until they pop up
Then I'll adjust the intensity based on stretching

Here we are 2 days later and both beans have broken the surface and are on their way

I'll be getting their final homes ready in the next day or so
As well as going over my nutes schedule for them

That's great! I m currently growing Blue dream which is flowering but as I messed a bit with the grow I m starting a new one and will grow blue dream again. Mine are not sprouted yet but in two days they should be out. Happy growing :)

Here we are again
I hope everyone's doing well
The babies at a week old.
They look to be doing fine so far

The only thing I'm watching for is stretching, but they seem to be about the right size. Checking on them a couple of times a day means I can adjust the light intensity as needed

This is what I use to feed my girls

I'v been very happy using this regimen. I follow the feed chart for the most part. I use the Bud Factor X during flowering as a supplement and use Calmag instaed of the GH product. Very easy to use, and great results with my first grow

Love the step stool......almost looks like a throne for the girls.....

Well, here we are a week later
Lots happened
On Friday, they both got topped. I had 4 nodes so I took the next one off
On Saturday, they got transplanted from their solo cups to their final home

They grew alot in that week
I started feeding them pretty much right away
They are in 100 percent coco (Botanicare bricks)
Using a supplemented GH Flora DTW regimen

Here is the Mama Mia
I think this is going to be a bushy one
Hope it stays short

The Blue Dream isn't as bushy, but it's lankier wanting to go up

So far so good I think.
I'll let them recuperate after their stressful weekend till Wednesday
And then we can hopefully start LST

Here they are lounging under the Quantums.....
Man, they love that light

They really blew up in a week.....very nice....

Yah MM is super bushy. Keep on top of any defoliation you plan on doing. As seedsman says aswell she LOVES calmag. I let the soil get to dry and she experienced a bit of lockout. The most noticeable part of it was the calmag deficiency. Once I sorted it and stepped up the calmag shes now back to trooping on. But seriously stay on top of defol with this girl. aswell as the lockout she got choked out by all the growth lol there was an abbundance of leaves and new growth but it was all SMALL and fighting for the little nutes the locked out roots could get.
