Swaggs Great Canadian Adventure: Diving into DWC

Guess who's finally back in action.... after a break that felt like decades, I am back to grow some stupendous, high quality, grade A++ and beyond medicinal grade cannabis. As some of you may already know from following my previous journals, i'm a novice home grower, extremely passionate, with 2 grows under my belt, both with great success and all in coco. For this next adventure i'm going to be trying something different again. In my never ending quest to learn and try new things, I have made a few changes to keep me on my toes. So here we go.

4x4 gorilla grow tent
california lightworks solarsystem 550
4 dwc buckets (yes, i said dwc), no reservoir due to my space limitations
air stones in each
air pump
4 different strains
starting with some remo nutes i have left over, once thats done, back to emerald harvest

Northern Highlights from Advanced Female Seeds (fem):
supposed to be an improved version of the classic Northern Lights
mostly indica
7-9 week flower
16-22% THC

Gorilla Cookies from Elev8 Seeds (fem):
sativa leaning hybrid
Gorilla Glue #4 and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies.
21% THC
8-9 week flower

Pink Kush from my good pal @Dabby Duck (fem):
indica dominant hybrid
21% THC
10-12 week flower

Raspberry Boogie from Mosca seeds (reg): hoping its a girl too
mostly indica hybrid
sour raspberry X pink 2.0
25% THC 30% CBD (so it claims)
9 week flower

These are the 4 strains i'm running, 1 of each, the boogie is a reg seed so let's hope its a girl. If it ends up being a boy, well, rip to the boogie. Only need girls in my tent. California Light Works 550 with a controller to adjust the spectrum for the different stages, its fully customizable. Really a great light from a great company. Gorilla grow tent 4x4, pretty straight forward. 4 black pails, lids and hydroton, air pump for the air stones. Pretty basic setup, I dont have room for a res so im gonna have to do things the hard way. All the tools for monitoring temps,rh,ppm etc etc. I do still have left over remo nutes to use before i switch over to the emerald harvest. My first grow I used remo, second run I used emerald harvest, both worked fantastic. Maybe the folks at remo will send me something before I run out. Last time I asked I got turned away but its all good. Although i've been away for some time, i cant help but notice how many ppl are trying out the remo after they seen the results in my first grow journal, JUST SAYING.

All beans soaked in water till they sank, then in wet paper towel. Once they have a little sprout I moved them into rooting cubes then into the buckets. Northern high lights and gorilla cookies were started about 2 weeks ago followed by the pink kush and raspberry boogie about a week later.

Up first gorlla Cookies

Subbed for the ride, I’m on my first dwc also and loving it, best of luck to you.✌️
Thanks ECG, it's good to be back and onto something new and Yes I noticed and quietly took a seat in the back and took notes from ur journal. I was excited when I seen u doing DWC. Motivated me to take the leap

The more the merrier. Welcome aboard. Pleasure to meet u.
Ditto!
Heard nothing but rave reviews from @newty ! I bet it is great to be growing close to a friend like that.

Yahoo! Swagg is back! I've seen you here and there lately, was wondering if you were going to make a comeback. I've wanted to do DWC for a while but i'm stuck in my ways at this point. Probably won't change much or start experimenting again until I buy my house. Either way, for a change i'm in early to a journal! I've been really bad about finding people's new journals. Can't wait to watch you go again and will you just be letting them grow or will there be some training involved?

It's a very nice perk for sure

Hey ase, welcome aboard. Yes ofcourse there will be training these gals, train them to fill out the tent evenly and hope for some success. I'm working on some plans on what to do if the raspberry boogie turns out to be a dude. Other then that just trying to have a successful DWC run with the new set up. I do wish I could run a res but for this run I'm gonna have to do without.

Welcome back Swagg! Looking good so far, looking forward to seeing what you and dwc can do to that Gorilla Cookies
So far the cookies is setting the pace for sure. Glad to have on board for another ride. Hopefully I can get some decent shots somewhere close to ur level.

Not much action to report but I'll just reset the updates so that I can do weekly updates, or try to at least. Pink kush is still a bit behind the rest but it's still early and any of them can get a little growth spurt at any time. I will likely do a watering change either later today or tomorrow depending how my day plays out. I'm trying to keep the water temps between 17-23 degrees C. Room temps are around 23 degrees C. And humidity is all over the place but generally over 50% almost always which is good. Other then that really not much to note or add at this point so just enjoy a few more pics.

Looking great bro! How are you finding the ph adjusting? Is it staying pretty stable for you? Those babies are sure blasting off! Are you noticing a difference in growth speed yet, compared to Coco? Sorry for all the morning questions:D I’m so curious!! I’m watching this grow like hawk.

I checked the ph and it went up so I just added a bit more ph down. Not sure if that's normal or if my initial pH level check when I was mixing was off. I find when I'm mixing a new batch, the ph reader is mighty slow. Could be cuz it's in cold water but who knows. I'll keep an eye on it tho to see if there's some pattern so I can adjust early. Pink kush still needs to grab a gear but the others are doing very well. I can't say I remember how fast they grew in coco but I have a feeling they're growing a bit faster. But that could be my eagerness and excitement to just get back into things.
