SweetSue's Hempy Haven: Powered By Timber

Just got over here after a few days absence. Looks like the move is progressing along. Ok...yeah...I got more
:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Awww Jim.... how sweet to feel I needed this hug.

:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

The move is progressing nicely, thank you. I’m still keeping too much, but I’ll whittle it down as I go, once I have everything I think I want to give away gone. :battingeyelashes: It can be hard to let go of things you’ve carried with you for decades. It’s surprising how much I’m attached to these things.

Good evening everyone

Today was a tad busier than normal. A friend joined me for lunch to catch up on the moving news. We befriended each other when our gall bladders were removed and we shared a room. Lol! From that unusual meeting sprang a deep friendship that’s stretches almost a decade. My move is shaking emotional roots across the region.

The pictures are loaded in. What say we take a stroll through the spaces and see what the garden’s up to? Come with me.....

Weekly Update: Clone cuttings, Veg shelf, and the tiny closet - Friday, August 10, 2018

It’s hard to look at all this lush growth beginning, knowing I won’t get to watch them flower and coax them along. My friend is interested in keeping anything J doesn’t take for the garden he’s helping to set up. Suddenly I have more demand than the garden offers. Lol!

No roots from any cuttings yet, although I did see the inkling of some in the Carnival Rapid Rooter.

Still plenty of time to get these moving.

The veg shelf is looking more normal now, despite the fact that any day now they’ll all vanish and this shelf will get packed.

CBD Critical Cure 4 is drinking 10ml of Parts A&B with 4ml of Energy per gallon of water used and she’s ready for transplanting. I was hoping J would get them before that, but I’ll go ahead and put her in one of the small pots. I’m hoping to find more of them before they sell out of the nearby Dollar Generals. They turned out to be perfect for clone mothers. I’m reluctant to let any go. Lol! The same for the pitchers, although they can be more easily replaced.

She’s definitely too big for this cup.

Another heartbreaker, Lemon Tonic is beginning to bust out. By next week I’ll be looking for a pot for her too. She’s drinking half-strength nutes, almost to full strength.

Can’t wait to get to NOLA and grow another one. I’m wishing I had a way to get this one to my new home. At least it can be replaced.

The shaky clones are beginning to shine. They’re drinking 8ml of Parts A&B with 4ml of Energy for each gallon of water used. I was waiting to see the kind of growth both she and the Carnival sitting next to her are beginning to put out.

I love the early leaves on Carn. :battingeyelashes:

Candy Cane 5...... I’m holding her back with nutes haven’t gotten her to the 13ml level yet, and look at her!

These are irreplaceable genetics, and I’ll be taking a cutting tomorrow. Somehow I’m hanging onto this line. I don’t know how yet, but I’ve decided it works too well for her to let it fall out of production.

It starts with the cutting.

J's gonna have fun with this girl.

Zam x Pan got topped this week, about two days back I believe. Just holding onto the genetics for J. I showed her pictures to my friend, but there’s no way a novice should be playing with a girl this big. Lol!

Mendocino Underdog #2 is growing like wild. After this picture she lost one of her tops in a vain attempt to keep her small.

One more glance back before we move on to the tiny closet.

The DDAs are settled, as are all the flowering girls older than two weeks in flower, at 14ml of Parts A&B with 1ml of Energy and 8 ml of Bulk per gallon of water used. As far as I can tell they all prefer I not step the bloom nutes up any higher.

DDA 8 just looks odd. Her color, shape, vigor, all seem off in comparison to the other DDA in here with her.

Her mass of buds may turn out to be something to write home about after all.

She’s beginning to show some dramatic staining of the leaves. It gives me hope.

DDA9 is the picture of a DDA. I think from now on I'll resist the urge to top the DDAs.

All done in this room.

I'll be right back with the tents. :ciao:

Weekly Update: The Flowering Tents - Friday, August 10, 2018

On to the blooming beauties. All three tents are now on a 10/14 schedule.

Tent #1

Everyone blooms. :battingeyelashes: I don’t really have a lot to say about these girls. They’ll do their best, and evidently be beautiful in the process. I’ll step aside for a few moments and let you just enjoy.

My only sativa in this tent. Lol!

They’re all happy and no trouble to keep going. They take very little resources. I’m hoping the yield will give us the cushion we’ll. Red for the daughterbwhilebi delicate and start afresh.

Tent # 2

These girls fit well together. The shape of Carnival allows enough space for them both to breathe.

Red Diesel is up to 6 grams of Mega Crop per gallon of water used. I’m more impressed with this nutrient line’s simplicity with every drench. Doob and I are reserving judgement until we see what terpene expression turns out to be. I can tell you this is one happy plant.

And she’s blooming! :yahoo: She was the last to burst forth in bloom. She won’t have anywhere near what she’ll want in time. I’m hoping early harvest translates into frillier buzz. :slide:

Carnival plugs along. This specimen is taking on a stronger perfume than earlier ones, which may be due to the decreased lighting schedule. Hmmm.....

She is breathtaking. :battingeyelashes:

I’m certain I’ll have enough time to finish Carn.

Tent # 3

Ooo, la, la.....

This has to be the most extraordinary plant I’ve grown to date. An imposing one, isn’t she? Frosty as she can be this early in too.

There’s more fading going on in the dense undergrowth than up at the top. From the looks of things she’ll be close enough to done in another five weeks to be well worth the wait.

Leaf porn! :cheesygrinsmiley:

That brings this week’s nickel tour to its close ladies and gents. I
Thank you so much for indulging us with your visit. We hope you leave with a smile and a hankering for some time with your own plants.

Time for the celebratory buzz. I’ll be here, just smoking. :bongrip:

can’t believe I missed it earlier...:hug::hug: Nice update Sue - it seems like it’s one of those days where what you’re leaving behind is making itself seen. I suppose that’s gonna happen a little bit

Thanks Amy...:hug::hug: I still have so much to gonthrough it can get overwhelming if I let it.... but I won’t. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I’m determined to get it down to essentials.

Seems like a bitter sweet experience but think of this way...you have a lot to make it much more sweeter than bitter ;):hug::hug:

My thinking is the more space I create by letting go of things that have me looking back, the more room I have to fill with new memories. :battingeyelashes: :hug::hug:

Yeah carnival and Zam x Pan are fixin’ To send you off with a bang Sue! Wow they look exceptional :yummy:

frillier buzz. :slide:
That’s a nice way of putting it. Sometimes I like early buds. Often just shorter lasting too. But you’ll get enough to roll with I reckon ;)

:passitleft:

It’s a SweetSue Day today :slide:

It’s a SweetSue Day today :slide:[/QUOTE]

I like to think of it as it's an Amy Gardner Day. :slide:

A little Carn my friend? :passitleft:

Amy, I had Zam X Pan out for a drench, on the high plant stand, so she dwarfed me. Lol! I was admiring her sheer mass and realized I'm looking at more than four ounces dry.

I'm in awe of this batch. That Red Diesel is going to surprise us. I'll be so thankful to be moved and have the tents up and running again. I'm just getting to my stride. Lol! What lies ahead is so thrilling I can barely stay inside my skin.

I think I'm glowing. People are starting to notice.

They offer an add-on to the base nutrient called Bud Explosion. A company only does that for one of two reasons.

1. The base nutrients can't quite do it all by itself.
2. Another product (money maker for them) you don't need but spend money on because you think you need it.

Guess it’s those new lights :yahoo:

:passitleft: thanks...

Lights are the engine that drives the grow, and that quantum board hanging over the Zam x Pan is incredible!

Don't mind if I do..... :passitleft:

I think I'm inclined to go with number 2 in this case beez. It's like the easiest thing in the world to get an obsessive cultivator of cannabis to try something new in hopes of frostier buds.

I've already decided that we overfeed. No need for anything beyond the base unit that I can't make myself.

Not having access to testing we're all guessing at what we grow anyway.

Those boards are something else. I swear my plants look happier after only their first day cycle.

If you are too paranoid to securely pack and carry during the move (which is some level of paranoia that is above mine - think about that for a moment ;) ), why not have a clone shipped to your destination? Or to Tead, if he'd be willing to play catch, but no sane individual would blame him (or anyone else) for being worried about doing so. Typing:
Code:
how to send rooted cuttings through the mail?
into the nearest Internet search-box yields 14,900,000 results. I'm just saying, lol. There's the concern about odor, of course, but that's manageable; you're not dealing with a 5' tall, 5' wide Roadkill Skunk bush, after all.

In the early '90s, thereabouts, someone - without asking(!) - sent me three rooted cuttings. From Germany. And, oh, by the way, it was the person I was buying seeds off of. I shat kine, LOL.

And then I planted them .

You managed to convince me to try it. I just checked, and the "coupon code" still works (it's listed on both the item's description page and the checkout page, BtW, so I don't have to worry about potentially stepping on any forum sponsors' toes by posting it here).

Unfortunately, while it's free, they won't pay a person to take it, lol - the customer is still on the hook for shipping. That's a bit over three dollars for my location. That's fair. But I have no bank account, and it doesn't look like the kind of operation where they invite people to send them cash in an envelope.

I never thought I'd say/type this, but I suddenly miss the '70s/'80s, and all those product ads on television. Some of them would take cash, and all of them appeared to accept money orders.

I guess it's (past) time to pay off that bank from when I ended up with a $75 overdraft when my (eventual) ex-wife thought it'd be fun to empty the account, so that I could help fund her part of the divorce, along with mine. Tried to open an account (again) a few years ago, and it turns out they remember stuff like that - and they inform other banks, apparently. Just always seemed to be something else to spend money on, I guess.

Anyone know of any kind of financial-themed AM radio talk show that's looking for the person in the US with the worst credit rating in history, so they can make a public example of the person - and are willing to pay off his/her debt load for the privilege, lol?

My buddy said that, if he hadn't just sold his truck, all you'd have to do for the move would be to rent a trailer, have at least the majority of your stuff packed, buy some diesel, and roll some joints. And judging from personal experience, you'd have gotten there noticeably faster, heh. Telling you this doesn't help even a little bit, since he did sell it. But I know him well enough to know that he wasn't just saying it to be saying something - so I thought I'd pass the message along.

He also volunteered his apartment as a meeting spot if you choose to visit during the trip. Which might work better than my house, logistically. His apartment is practically empty of clutter (and furnishings ), so there's room to hang out for a minute (or a week). There's a big parking lot, with a huge (acres) one just before that. And there is ZERO chance that his water will be off on any given day and he'll have to sneak a bucket of water out of the neighbor's pool in order to make the toilet work.

Between the two of us, given adequate warning, some good luck, and prior planning, we could probably come up with a bowl's worth of some kind of cannabis. Maybe a couple. Not much, I know, but... something, somehow.

1. The base nutrients can't quite do it all by itself.
2. Another product (money maker for them) you don't need but spend money on because you think you need it.

They also go out of their way to clearly state on at least one of their supplement product pages:

This product is not necessary when using MEGA CROP as your base nutrient!

Bud Explosion does not seem to have this in the text. On the other hand, it does state:

For users of MEGA CROP who want to boost PK without adding extra N.

I've got no problems with that. As a matter of fact, plants requiring different amounts and ratios of nutrients at different stages of their lives is the reason I've always shied away from "one-part" nutrient lines. I'm not even really all that happy with the thought of getting a Calcium/Magnesium supplement that contains (additional) nitrogen. I've got a whole sack of calcium nitrate that practically IS an entire sack, because I don't use it much. But it's either added nitrogen or added sulfur, it seems, and neither would be my choice for what to add late in flowering.

Some people like to give a phosphorous/potassium supplement at some point during flowering. Some people appear to take this to extremes. <SHRUGS> Some people do neither. Looks like this nutrient line offers options for all of them.

Also, we grow cannabis, but it's not "just" cannabis. It's Kali Mist, Blueberry, Moroccan landraces from the Rif mountains, Big Bud, Jack Herer, Dark Devil Auto, African landraces that evolved/naturalized in environments that hardly seem able to support a blade of grass... and a "couple" more (lol). Try growing 100 random strains by feeding them all the same ratio of nutrients, start to finish, and most will make it to harvest in decent condition. Some will be great. Some... not so much.

Oh, man. My teachers would have rejoiced! You think I was quiet in class? First day of class one year, a teacher quietly told me that they had a new teacher that year who was teaching the same (type/level of) class that I was sitting in, so he wouldn't know me - and if I'd like to change to that class, he'd happily make sure it happened. I tended to be a bit of a distraction. Hey, they didn't put restraints on the desks, so it must be acceptable to get up and walk around during class, right? No? Huh, imagine that ;) .

I once thought that'd be fun, but... Space slightly larger than a coffin, lots of hard things to get slammed into (regularly), filled to bursting with other sweaty, stinky guys. And then some clown pops up out of the scrub as you pass and drops a satchel charge at the base of your turret - or you get shelled - and, look, the tumble-dryer coffin has now become a barbeque.

They still look cool. And I have a lot of respect for the people who inhabit the things. They're just not for me.

Ah, you've managed to discover Big Secret #17. If that one ever gets out, surely the bars/nightclubs will go out of business, lol.
Haha well school wasn't meant for everyone though. They always blames the kids for having too much fun in class. I still find that pretty dumb today though.

Driving or commanding a tank is pretty fun, even when it's 53°C or -20°C in that thing! I mainly play with those things for show in the Tank Museum Bovington and as a reserve when things really get out of hand. Hopefully that won't happen. Anyway, the tank I play in is not tgat cramp it is actually pretty comfartable and the handling was just amazing...

Anyway enough about tanks! I'm thinking of starting my own grow journal... Should I?

I'm thinking of starting my own grow journal... Should I?

Let's see... Provides entertainment to the peanut gallery, potentially helps you by allowing others to spot any issues (current or approaching) and/or deficiencies in your setup, and helps other people learn - and shows them how easy it is to grow their own cannabis.

I'm thinking the answer is, "Yes."
