Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Hey tead brotha lookn good as always gotta alil catchn up 2do lol but i had a question dnt u get pests galore inside when u take ur girls outside like tht?

Hey Baby!
Ya know... I've had the best of luck outdoors with just the perlite going. I spray for caterpillars regularly on the outside girls, and they get some neem oil in the pots, but mostly clear of the evil buggins. The indoor world has a population of spider mites working, but they don't like it outside.

Oh boy man i freak out if i start hitting 84 and up today it got to 86 an i was like:eek: lol gotta setup my bigger extraction fan now its getting warmer out

It can be ugly. When a storm blows thru and takes out the power for a week, it gets real ugly.
Generally, I can stay below 90f with night temps in the upper 70s. The AC is set to 74.
I may live in a hot ass swamp, but the food's good and I generally get to hang out in shorts.

Dam that sounds like nice n warm where i wana live weather haha

I use to put plants outside and mite populations wood drop. I don't know if it's the wind or what. Since I been here I haven't gotten mites on outdoor crops. Well hemp mites,, but not spider mites. GL and Keepem Green

Wow Tead im glad to see you still growing them nice ladies! Sorry bout latency in my response lol. What was this i saw about Sour Diesel bagseed? I still got some of that going its just i gotta get out of some bad habits in the garden, been a little off my game lol. Sucks about the A/C going out, just glad your girls took it like a champ.

I've had mites outdoors before. But I do have to say the wind and others insects seem to keep spider mites in check here. Least in Portland Or area. But back home in Arkansas,, we use to have to spray for mites every year at flower onset. Or you'd never get a crop in. But you better believe mites can live outdoors..... I know. Trust me said the spider mite to the plant. Keepem Green

The wheels keep rollin baby!
I've been using 2Ls as test pots for plants I'm unsure of. It allows me to get them thru the grow quickly and really reduces footprint. So nice.
Dunno if it's really SD or not.... dunno if I could tell... tho perhaps the smoke will speak. I'll be sure to keep photos of it going so others can weigh in.

Ya know... movin them outdoors was a trick I learned from you Wood. Thanks!
Between all the various efforts, I've got them eliminated.... again. They seem to come back every 4 or 5 months.... usually about the time I get lazy with my neem oil or preventative sprays.

Alright.... Let's do plant porn. Well get the boring stuff outta the way first.

The bloom room post-overheat. Seems ok to me. Plants of note... Jack front left, Ox in full bloom rear left of center, DBS peeking out low right.

This is an auto (SSDC) in a 5gal hempy pot. I think her roots grew too fast.

Blue dream ready for harvest

Trichomes from Blue Dream

Trichomes on the Ox in the back of the bloom room

Jack in full on 'fireworks' mode

Dat's it man.... get out there and make a fellow human smile.

Very nice brother! I see your still using those tall pvp pipes for hempy pots, and nice to know you still use 2L bottles lol, you know me and the 2Ls lol. I cant get over how fat those nugs are!

Dam brotha those r some nice looking buds u got there and a super nice harvest coming up soon it seems congrats what do u usually get for a dry weight out of 1plant using that small of a pot? Also are all ur girls hempy with osmo+?

Nice Blue Dream Tead!
I hope you are healing up well and getting some movement back?
Looks like there is a harvest in your immediate future.
I hope you are heading out to JazzFest for the weekend ... when in Rome ...

We were thinking of driving over for the weekend, but we just have too many things to do as we are starting the new settlement.

I tried Autos for the first time about 6 months ago, and the experience taught me that I know nothing about growing Autos. They all ended up as 2 foot tall squatty little dense plants that probably didn't even yield an oz each. I should have paid more attention and direct planted into the final container, they started flowering at maybe 8 inches tall ,

They would have been perfect for a 16oz solo cup grow, but I do get if a person is really tight on vertical space that an Auto is ideal. I don't have anything setup or growing right now, but I don't think I'll be mixing Autos and Photo-period plants again. I did plant a couple of seeds in the ground outdoors today, haven't grown outside in several years. It seems the soil here is fairly poor, so I doubt they will do well without constant pH and nutrient attention. I'd call it a 1000 gallon outdoor sand hempy

Peace
Keith

Man...I wish you well on the autos. Mine would have dwarfed up like that too even in 5 gallons. Blue Dream looking sweet though.

I've become pretty convinced that autos in perlite hempy is just a bad idea... root growth is just too fast.
I wonder if coco will do better and I'll be kicking that tire soon.

Wow! The closer pics make Blue Dream look heavier than I thought. Has she bulked up the past few days?

Indeed she had. It's the natural way.
She's seen the chainsaw and suffered thru the 'Timber!' moment. Spent her time in the dry box and now her existence consists of herbs in a jar curing... just waiting for a proper sample from a visiting friend.....

Lights man... all lights.... lights I can keep on high during the winter months giving me bettah buds during the cools months.
Been missin your UFO photos. Love the UFO.

All the girls are Osmo+. Tead's just so damn lazy.
I see about 2+oz of harvest on a well grown (rarer than I'd prefer!) plant. I could boost that with a customized liquid nutrient feeding routine... but, again, lazy.

I'd call it a 1000 gallon outdoor sand hempy

There's a Futurama episode where Fry is pouring breakfast cereal on his head and Bender is standing by watching the insanity and yelling "Go man go!".
Yea... that's pretty well how Tead sees that one.... Go man go!
Should work. Could work. How many days does the sand/soil stay damp after watering?

Dale's Bagseed has some company this morning... tho in a different tent.

Equals 2 DBS baby girls in the garden!!!

Fun stuff!

I made a strategic error this morning.... sad that I didn't avoid such an obvious trap.
Jazzfest has a horrible impact on parking in the area of course.
Locals often reserve street spots with garbage cans or other blocking debris.
Some locals step well beyond the bounds of legality and reserve then rent out these street parking spots. My neighbor this morning blocked 1/2 a block of parking with cans and wood. Mind you, Jazzfest doesn't occur today... it occurs tomorrow, but she's heading out of town today to avoid the crowds and has handed her 'operation' off to others for the weekend.
As she was doing it, I naturally just assumed she was confused about the day, so I reminded her it was tomorrow (around noon) and not today. She responded with her words about being out of town, to which I replied "Really?" while tilting my brow at her. I was smack in the middle of the replant and totally didn't have the time to have a discussion regarding it, so I returned to my backyard and my planting duties. She had to drag the point out and came back around calling for me... I begged to avoid it telling her I was smack dab in the middle of something delicate but she simply wouldn't stop.... I even tried walking away as I was telling her I was tied up and too busy.

I was unable to avoid pointing out the obvious to her as her voice levels and agitation grew. She had no urge to listen to any of my words... words specifically formulated to avoid an argument... she was too busy trying to tell me why her actions were kosher.

Now one of my neighbors is unhappy with me, and I think less of them.
Strategic error making my world less. Dumbass.

That's probably better than mine would have been, which would be to just move stuff out of the way and park there even if I had a spot already.... My patience has diminished with age.

With very limited experience, I agree about autos and perlite, but I didn't really know that autos and root depth had any relationship. I'm really a full on Auto noob. I've done many coco grows with regular and feminized seeds, but never done autos in anything but perlite.

I think the "soil" holds water for about an hour ... its 90% sand! it won't puddle at all, so its useless as soil unless I water and feed like indoor hydro. The seeds did break ground but my wife is adamant, no outside grows at our new location. She's seldom hard-fast about things, and shes right, this ain't CA or OR! and I'm not 25 years old anymore either!

Peace
Keith
