So it's time for another little update. Ladies are just starting the beginning of week 6 today, day no 36 of flowering.

Not too much to report apart from things seem to be looking good. Buds seem to be getting fatter and growing out of the sides of some of the buds, they're also getting frostier and stickier too. They also smell divine, so citrusy, it's a really nice fragrance indeed.

As its a fresh week I drained out the reservoir and replaced with a fresh batch of nutrients. The mix is as follows.

Plant Magic Magne-cal - 0.4 EC
Growth Technology Ionic Bloom 1.1 EC
That bought me up to 1.5 EC.
I then added Buddha's Tree PK 9-18 0.5 ml litre
Buddha's Tree Metaboost 1.5ml litre
Growth Technology Liquid Silicon to adjust PH. Final EC 1.7, PH 5.5.

I have a question about how far I can let the EC rise now.

Before I was letting it get to 1.8ish before knocking it back to 1.5. Now it's starting higher at 1.7 I'm wondering how high I can let it drift before adding water back to the reservoir? I know my plants are definitely taking more water than nutrients as the EC in my reservoir always goes up by around .2/.3 by the time I check it again the next day and usually have to add some water.

I also took out 15l of water from the reservoir once it was mixed up, I added 3 scoops of great white and top fed the whole of the flood tray.

Time for a little update. I hope everyone has had a fantastic Christmas and a very chilled Boxing day! We're just starting the beginning of week 7, day no 43 of flowering today.

As its a fresh week I drained out the reservoir and replaced with a fresh batch of nutrients. The mix is as follows.

I then added Buddha's Tree PK 9-18 0.5 ml litre

Not to much else to report apart from things seem to be going well, ladies seem to be happy and growing nicely. Just counting down the days now.

Thanks very much pal. Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on the leaf tips and just slowly building up the nutrients and letting them tell me what they want. I think I may have had the slightest of cal/mag deficiencys as well as some of the leaves show signs, but not all of them. This is going to be their last week of nutrients, I will start flushing on day 48 or 50. I think they can go anywhere between 55/60 days from what I've read. I also don't have that many orange hairs yet, the majority are all white. I've had a look with a microscope too and mostly all clear trichs atmo, still some with out caps too on places. I'm guessing I have roughly 2 weeks left till they're ready if I go by the 8 week schedule. I want to make sure I get a 7 day flush with plain R/O water too.

They look good. Keep your eyes peeled for bud rot now. Once you start flushing they will finish fast.

You don't need that much light for veg in the space you have. You could still be vegging with t5 s and get the same results. It's a waste of electricity and your money. For that space if your using a mh for veg. I would have my ballast set on the lowest setting, your definitly dont need 400 w. Oh and you have your light way to close. For a 400 I would have the light about 2-3 feet away.

Thats not accurate mate. Yes you can use less light and have it further away but it will make veg time slower and possible stretchier plants.

I beg to differ. Veged these under a single 2 ft t5 4 lamp
196 watts total. For 5 weeks from seed. His grow looks great for his first time. I'm just saying that that 400w in such a small tent is not necessary so early into veg

Well im not going to argue mate but ive grown many thousands of plants indoors, i have no idea how many. Maybe 20'000, im not sure. My veg times are short and i always max out the square meterage. I veg from seed and clone under minimum 600w hps, 600wLed or 600mh depending on which grow space im at. Theres different ways to do things and if it works for you then thats great. I have years of experience having tried just about anything you can think of. I do use cfls and t5's ocassionally also as i have many different grow rooms with diff set ups in. But running 600w+ per square meter gives best results.

Terps grow is great for a first run.

Update time. I don't know where the time has gone, it's absolutley flown by! We're at the beginning of week 8, day 50 of flowering.

Not to much to report, it's just been a case of waiting and counting down the days. Things seem to have been going really well.

Today was the day to start my flush as it was the beginning of week 8.

I drained out all the left over nutrients from the reservoir and refilled with nothing but fresh R/O water. I plan on flushing for a week in total.

Happy new year to you too THChoker. Thanks very much, I appreciate it. It's been a great learning experience. I've really enjoyed myself, I'm also really chuffed with the outcome and how they're looking myself too! Oh awesome, do you have a journal on the to by any chance? I'm sure they will turn out good mate, it seems to be a pretty hardy plant. The buds should really start to fatten up for you now as you're 4 weeks in. I also think the citrusy smell they give off is beautiful, what do you think?

Good first effort mate. Ive seen people grow multiple grows and pull off way worse.

Now it is vitally important that younare vigilant for bud rot! The problem with bulk is the flowers are so dense the moisture cant evaporate out. Make sure fan is blowing acoss all tops. It very rare that i get to the end of the full flower period with this strain for this reason. Look for the little sugar leaves looking yellow or rusty, it can be a tell tale sign. It usually starts internally and by time mould reaches outside there is a lot of damage done.

Id change tank after 24 hours, that will have given roots a good wash. Then just top up tank if needed til harvest.

Its very rare that new growers follow advice correctly mate. Its too easy to listen to too many opinions and spoil it. Youve done a good job.

Thanks very much cult, really appreciate your kind words. I'm rather impressed with how things have gone for my first attempt, I've also rather enjoyed myself which is an added bonus. I'm really looking forward to learning more and getting my next one under way too. I also owe you a ginormous thank you for all your help and support in helping me get this far! So thank you very much Cultivator!

I'm keeping an eye out for signs of bud rot, don't worry about that. Got my eyes Glued to them at lights on for a check over every day. I've got 3 fans going 24/7 full speed plus the extractor fan is on full speed 24/7 for the last 3 weeks too. Hoping with all the airflow and extraction bud rot hopefully wouldn't have had much of a chance to sit and begin germinating inside of the tent. I will drain the reservoir again later and then refill with fresh R/O.

I noticed when I looked at them yesterday some of the buds were starting to feel less sticky and a little more dryer than than they were before don't know if this is part of the finishing off process though.
