The Houston Texans have waived wide receiver Jaelen Strong.

Houston announced the move on Monday. The Texans signed wide receiver Andy Jones and tackle Jah Reid in corresponding moves. The Texans also signed wide receiver Cobi Hamilton and tight end MyCole Pruitt to their practice squad. Wide receiver Riley McCarron was waived from the Texans' practice squad.

Strong, 23, was a third round pick by the Texans in the 2015 NFL Draft. He had 14 catches for 161 yards and three scores in 10 games during his rookie campaign. The Arizona State product played 20 snaps in the Texans' win Thursday against the Cincinnati Bengals. He didn't draw a single target from rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Strong missed the Texans' first game while serving a one-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy and program for substances of abuse. He was also arrested in 2016 on a marijuana possession charge in Arizona.

The Texans currently have DeAndre Hopkins, Braxton Miller, Bruce Ellington, Will Fuller and Jones at wide receiver. Fuller returned to Texans practice on Monday. He broke his collarbone in August.

Houston (1-1) has just two touchdowns entering Week 3. The Texans travel to Foxborough Sunday to face the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots have allowed the third-most yards to wide receivers early on in the season.
