i always have for years and hundreds of seeds put them in a cup of room temp water untill they pop taproots and have never had a problem with germ rates always in the 90%+ success range. i have left them in for to long before and they became mush tho, but that was my fault for not getting in soil in time they had taps well over an inch long before they went bad.
