Waddup waddup waddup. Back again, with a new grow, and a few new tricks. Made some changes to the setup, runnin separate exhaust arms for my carbon filters and light hood. Went all semi rigid 6 in duct, built a intake air filter, and sealed off the vent window. Added an occilating tower fan and a 6 in clip on, and added 2 6 in 4 watt t5s for cloning. Also cut 12 inches of the center of my third station shelf to allow my led to hang though and provide a functional space for cloning. I now have. 2 x12 sq in for cloning and seed incubation which is mildly separate from the main 1 x 3 veg chamber. So the set up is as follows:

1 - 4 x 3 x 6ft tent (2 rooms, 3x3 & 1 x 3 with 2 1 x 1 "lofts")
1 - 1000 watt digital dimmable ballast (running 600)
1 - 6 in cool tube & xxx wing
1 - 300 watt led
2 - 4 watt T5
1 - 342 cfm. Exaust
1 - 6 in carbon filter
1 - 4 in carbon filter
1 - 18 in x 18 in x 3 ft drying chamber
3 - 18 in sj drying racks

The rest I'll introduce as we go, or check my old journals but im adding things all the time.

The goal in this grow is to simply provide myself with high grade Colorado ammendment 64 complaint marijuana.

All plants are grown in coco coir peralite mix, and hand watered at this time.

This will be a multi strain grow, with strains coming and going as I weed out the best from the best.
A bonus for this flowering cycle is a free tardis clone in super soil I received from a fellow grower. This is a bonus because it was free, and it was in tgasubcool recipe super soil. So this journal will include a super soil vs coir tardis strain show down, but more on that later. For all practical purposes, I am a coco peralite shop only.

Finnally, I will refer to this grow as the fiks factory, a and Will hopefully have a long running perpetual grow.

Look for the next post for starin info and plant introductions.

Ok, here's a shot of the main chamber open. On top of the tent is my drying chamber.
420-magazine-mobile1486975007.jpg

Those are rigid 90s for all angles, and Simi rigid ducting throughout. The complete exhaust system includes a 6 in duct Wye aprox 1 foot from suction/intake side of my fan. A 6in duct tee and 4in reducer slip through a roof port then connected to a 4 in carbon filter exausts my 1 x 3 led veg chamber. The t continues to a 6 in 90 into a roof port followed by another 90 to connect directly to my 6 in carbon filter. That completes the carbon filter arm, so Back to the initial wye, which connects to approx 2 ft of semi rigid, then to a 90 into the tent and 4 ft of semi rigid, which i very carefully compress/expand to raise and lower my light. I use rigid 90s at each end of the cool tube, and a 90 to suck through a side port. I used a plastic ceiling exaust soffit modified with filter material installed on the side to keep dust out of my light. I madethis change from my last grow for two reasons. I had waaaaaay to much negitive pressure inside the tent due to the exaust fan only pulling air from inside the tent. My temps were ok, but i had no humidity, and i hated how far the sides sucked in. I can now say my temps are excellent, i have better humidity, an my plants look much better all the time. I think its important to share this because alot. Of people run their fans full bore and get huge negitive pressures in their tents. This is a harsh environment and will cause u problems. Obviously its different for everyone, but dialing in your air exchange rates is important.

Heres another shot of the flower chamber. Im 4 days into transition. Once i see nice budsites, ill switch to hps.

Ok, heres a canopy shot. These are all Tardis strain by Homegrown Natural Wonders/TGASubcool. They have vegged from 3/16 to 5/2.

Ok, thats all for this post. Ill enter the veg wing next.

Last note. Got the 420 magazine android app this go around. I gotta say it is waaaaaay easier with this over documenting via the webpage on my phone. Should be a successful journal!

re: The Fiks Factory - 3x3 600HPS & 1x3 300LED - Coco Coir - Multi Strain Perpetual

Guess i should of mentioned quantity. 3 are in 3 gal coco coir, 1 is in 4 gal super soil. Total of 4 plants currently in my 3x3. I have employed super croping as a teqnique to slow growth on particular branches to even out all branches for an even canopy. No screens or netting is used at this time. Final super crop was applied 18 days prior to light cycle change. Ill break them out and introduce them individually when the light cycle begins again.

Ok now really onto the veg side.

Definitely gunna be watching this very closely and i love that ventilation idea i notice the same issue my humidity is super super low not bad for flower but the only way to keep it cool is have my fan full blast im going to look into that thanks

Im sure your aware, thebottom vent for intake on out tent is 5 in. This is kinda un common. I was able to find rigid 90's and paint them flat black, and build a custom intake filter super easy, and very professional. I can share if your interested.

Ok, for real this time heres the veg chamber. From fron to back, we have an unsexed bruce banner dispensery bag seed, next row from left to right we have a tardis clone, and a bag seed grand daddy purp x tardis? The next row are the same gdp x possible tardis. Followed by tardis clones, tardis clones and an empty pot. In total there are 8 plants
420-magazine-mobile2090120506.jpg
notice the tardis clones, these were taken from the super soil plant. When i first recieved the original clones, they had the same initial appearance. I believe this is due to the transition from organics to synthetic nutes. I run flora series performance pack with fossil fuel and hydrogard additives. Flora series contains orgainic additives however the base nutes are chelated. They seem to gain vigor on the second or third true feeding.

Heres a shot of the clone loft. Its empty now but not for long.

And heres some over all canopy shots. Notice the gap between plant and cool tube. This is 8 in measured from the center growth of a upper node. How close is to close? I feel fine when performing the hand test. I see no ill affects. I will continue to monitor and prehaps raise to atleast 10 in.

Thanks man its a work in progress. Not done...but i dont think theres anyone on here that would say they are. Gonna go check out your grow. Thanks for stopping by.

re: The Fiks Factory - 3x3 600W HPS & 1x3 300W LED - Coco Coir - Multi-Strain - Perpetual

Plants are looking healthy and well nourished , they are a happy bunch nice work !

At first I had my 600w cool-tube set at 6 inches when I noticed some bleaching on a leaf.

With my set up I try to keep the closer leaves more in the sidelight and use the center beam to shine the greatest distance to the inner leaves of the plants.

re: The Fiks Factory - 3x3 600W HPS & 1x3 300W LED - Coco Coir - Multi-Strain - Perpetual

Fantastic! Which fan did you get for your cool tube? Im uncertain which would actually do the trick. IM running Apollo Horticulture 600w hps.

re: The Fiks Factory - 3x3 600W HPS & 1x3 300W LED - Coco Coir - Multi-Strain - Perpetual

Its a generic....342 cfm. Its mounted in a coat closet, with duct ran through the wall. Keeps it hella quiet. I use my house as a mixing room sort of speak. Summer might be a problem, but the closet is vented towards outside by openin the front door.

re: The Fiks Factory - 3x3 600W HPS & 1x3 300W LED - Coco Coir - Multi-Strain - Perpetual

Well as long as it can drop the temps down 5-10 degrees. And has good pull. Was going to get a basic one from Amazon VenTec 240cfm or the better 440cfm. Not sure. The reviews on both are good from Amazon.

What's the temp drop on yours?

re: The Fiks Factory - 3x3 600W HPS & 1x3 300W LED - Coco Coir - Multi-Strain - Perpetual

Im running a single fan for exaust and my cool tube. I dont have that calculated. Basicly, i set up my exaust to balace itself using static pressure. Air is sucked at its own max speed between the carbon filters and the free flowing cool tube. Since the cool tube arm has less resistance, the majority of the air is sucked through there. Which is great because im technically only exausting around 60 cubes per min within both chambers. If i were u, i would opt for the blower. The low cfm ventek is easly affected by static pressure and wont get close to 244 cfm. If you plan on cooling your cool tube, more flow is better. Its your room exaust that u should dial in with specific flow rates.....thats my understanding though. Some one correct me if im wrong, im not a pro hvac guy.

re: The Fiks Factory - 3x3 600W HPS & 1x3 300W LED - Coco Coir - Multi-Strain - Perpetual

Yeah thanks! So to clarify your saying get the 240? I could use your same setup.

re: The Fiks Factory - 3x3 600W HPS & 1x3 300W LED - Coco Coir - Multi-Strain - Perpetual

I would use the 440. 240 duct booster is a fan for a different purpose. U want the centrifugal exaust blower fan. U can always seperate the tent and hood with two fans, and that would be what most would consider proper, but u may be able to do what i am and get the resaults u need.

re: The Fiks Factory - 3x3 600W HPS & 1x3 300W LED - Coco Coir - Multi-Strain - Perpetual

Nice I see one one Amazon. That one is for the carbon filter pull and then through the cool tube setup that you have?
